If he loses that he'll want to be starting week in week out somewhere. I've full faith on Gordon coming back in though, if he finds his form again he's one of our best players. Where does he go and start 50 games a season?
Sibierski Posted Thursday at 09:32 Share Posted Thursday at 09:32 Gordon is a switched on guy, he’ll know Barnes is in form and he’ll have to work for his spot back in side, and also he needs to add the finishing that Barnes is great at. I can see Gordon working on his finishing religiously in the summer and be a better player for Barnes form.

I can't see both Barnes and Gordon hanging around beyond next season being rotated all the time, both far too good not to be starting every game for their club. Barnes will be 28 next season and playing UCL football. He’ll be at stage where he’s happy to be a squad player that’s challenging for the major honours or he steps down a level to be a regular. AyeDubbleYoo Posted Thursday at 09:35 Share Posted Thursday at 09:35 They could both start for any team in the PL TBH, I don’t think Barnes would have to step very far down to get a start.
Displayname Posted Thursday at 09:37 Share Posted Thursday at 09:37 Neither Barnes nor Gordon is to good to be fighting for a spot in one of the best teams in the Premier League.
Sibierski Posted Thursday at 09:39 Share Posted Thursday at 09:39 In next 24 months we will be the side that challenges the ‘sky 6’, then Villa will want to be there too. Can you see any of those clubs signing Barnes for £40m+, tying him down at 29 on a 5 year deal as a first name on sheet? Nope. So would be a step down required if he wanted to be a guaranteed starter.
