Edit - from an attacking perspective I mean Great first half against Liverpool, I'm not sure what else he has done of note?

Played well vs Villa and set up Tonali for the goal, won us a pen vs Brentford and had a decent game off the top of my head. Nobody has particularly set the world on fire in an attacking sense, but the only other player that’s in the conversation is Barnes for his brief cameos. Any coincidence Isak has appeared more marked with less room this season ? But but but, St Maxi’s xG and xA shows he’s a nob, so Gordon-Barnes must be better for us (I totally agree with you btw - stats don’t show Maxi’s value. Perhaps opposition average position maps when they play is with Maxi would - defenders almost definitely deeper and midfield pulled apart as someone’s got to double up)
The Butcher
Such a positive player. Always trying to make things happen. He's going to be an absolute star for us in the years to come.

I just keep thinking back to that Southampton game at home where as soon as Gordon came off we scored 3 and could have scored 10. And the Aston villa game away where it was a reflection of this season's struggles Still think he's a good player, but right now just doesn't compliment what we had and the players that got us fourth
The College Dropout
Isak would go to ASM and Willock when they had the ball to play with them. He doesn’t really do that with Gordon. I think that’s partly because Gordon looks to cross it more from wide so he better be in the box.
Lush Vlad
Did you say you missed the first 15? Weirdly, on the scraps we had. They seemed to be linking up quite well early doors. Bit off topic, but whilst I remember. I also thought the press was there early on. Then when Milan had their first chance, quickly followed by a couple more. We seemed to drop off a yard or two. Intentional, perhaps. Maybe a sub-conscious thing as they were passing through us and beating the press easy enough or maybe some of them were blowing out of their arse. As they did make the pitch massive and look to switch play a lot, especially through Maignan.

Lotus
Rather than receiving the ball on the left with back to goal and carrying it inside, I’d like to se him make an out to in run from the left into the 10 position and receive the ball there with Isak or Wilson on the CB’s shoulder looking or a through ball or making space for Gordon to try a shot. Hes definitely got the pace for it. I also think he controls the ball a lot better like that than with his back to goal and defender up his arse as he’s not very strong. This tactic does requIre someone to make a nice weighted pass so he doesn’t have to break stride. Might work best if the ball comes from either a LB or Botman who probably has the passing range to execute.
buzza
I think Gordon has been one of the positives of this season. He has looked one of our best players in the games played and puts in a shift. Would like to see him in a N°10 role if eddie were to tinker and play a 4231

Each one seems to do what he wants (to some degree).
Whitley mag
If you have inverted wingers who cut inside I think it’s imperative to have overlapping fullbacks, otherwise it becomes very predictable and easy to defend. I think against Liverpool he went down the outside a couple of times, but needs to guard against constantly cutting inside all the time, especially at home against a well organised defence sitting deep. Ideally we want a fluent front 3 constantly interchanging a bit like Arsenal did with Henry, Bergamp, Wiltord and Pires.
