What does "muddy PSR compliance" mean? How does leaking fake news items change how much we've spent over the last three years?

Yeah, not sure what he was getting at.

However, all this noise being out there and getting headlines, would definitely be a good cover or distraction for the deals we are actually working on. Also gives the impression we are struggling financially, which could help get us better deals in the market.

Not sure it muddied PSR compliance, but it does create a handy narrative moving forward.

I think that’s fanciful, but I could believe were leaking stuff to try and force the hands of other clubs for players like Minteh.

Wouldn't that  only drive his price down ?

I’m literally not watching the PL again if we have to sell Gordon. Not that it will happen, but just putting it out there.

Did we actually consider it ?

I get the impression our owners are a little more coy than that, based on the legal challenge they mounted for the takeover. They'll use the Premier League's own rules against them in CAS but without breaking any of them. They'll say they complied to the letter with everything asked, but were hamstrung by rules that deter natural progression within the system. PSR creates an environment where teams wishing to progress not only have to sell their best players, but buying clubs know the club has to sell so has an advantage in negotiations.

CAS simply don’t have jurisdiction . Or put another way there is absolutely no route for a PL dispute to be referred to CAS.

Your current owners didn’t mount any challenge against the PL. There was a challenge to a competition tribunal from ST James Holdings whose main claim wasn’t ruled on. NUFC ( the club) took matters to an arbitration panel.

To a degree some of the issues that many are so upset about will be resolved at Arbitration following Cities latest challenge.

Irrespective for  me the white paper re the regulator suggests to me  that current legislation and particularly the restrictions that will apply to football , such as deciding what PL clubs have to hand over to the EFL , the fact that PL  clubs won’t be able to leave the PL, won’t be able to move premises without permission , point to football being treated in a completely different environment

Not necessarily. If the sale is driven by a PSR concern it’s not going to be available, at least on the same terms, once we address the shortfall. The idea we might sell someone else and suddenly Minteh’s not available could put pressure on interested teams.

We aren’t selling Gordon lads no worries.

Fascinating we're leaking this and the Isak rumours though.

Clearly part of a strategy, but no idea if it's to cushion the blow of losing "lesser" players or it's bigger picture stuff.

That's a stretch. More likely other teams will think we need to sell so knock down the price.

This would actually be soul crushing. He's the epitome of everything I love about this current side, works his socks off, already lethal but with massive potential to grow, good head on his shoulders. His redemption arc after how things finished at Everton - I'd be devastated to lose him.

Absolutely selling a hot prospect or one of our own wouldn’t exactly go down well; frame it as selling them or a gem and people are like ok get rid.

He will be the lightning rod for a lot of ire. It would be in his best interests to move on.

Not saying it right or wrong but this is 100% going to happen and it could get nasty.

Anyone giving Miggy shit for not wanting to move to Saudi fucking Arabia needs to look at themselves. He's not under obligation to move himself and his young family out to the desert just because it suits his employer. If the club has gotten into a situation when we need to sell to avoid sanctions, that's on the club, not any individual.

Don’t believe the rumours at all. Imo the club is putting this out to show what a shitshow PSR is and to soften the blow of selling Minteh.

This is what I’m pinning it on too, or even Wilson, Trippier or Longstaff.
