He’s raw as buggery.  The lad might well develop into a top player but he wasn’t close to it last season - not meant to be a criticism, as he was 16/17 in all fairness.  Hope he does develop, but the last thing he needs is ludicrous expectations from the support - most of these kids do not end up going on to be the second coming.

And that's class is it?

Basic summary as obviously there is more to his game.

Like ........... I'm being serious here.  There would be nobody more happy than me to see this young un become a regular.  However, what I've seen so far from him is bang average.  It might be me but some people saying he will be a future England player just blow me away.

Only thing I'd say might be an issue for him making it to a high level would be his athleticism. Looked painfully slow at times last year, which unfortunately is a much needed attribute for the real top players at PL level. However he has the potential to develop everything else. Definitely has a good footballing brain and does the simple things very well. Could develop into a bit of a Michael Carrick type perhaps.

I for one don't think that but I think he does the basics well and there is a place in the squad for him. He looks comfortable in possession and has great awareness.

Alan Smith (Leeds one) got 19 caps for England. Anything can happen.

Didn't really see much in that cameo. What's everyone fizzing over? Thought the game was well dead and everyone was waiting for it to be over.

It was more just that I'd forgotten how good and generally assured he is for his age. Never any panic, or making rash decisions, always calm and controlled and good decision making. It was just a cameo but I enjoyed it, if he was 10 years older it would be different.

So, you tuned out on 80 minutes yesterday, then?

He doesn't really look raw at all given his age. Indeed he looks very assured.

Osula on the other hand is 3 years older but actually does look like a raw youth player.

At 18 he's already playing and starring for the under 21s. If he doesn't play for England it'll be because of the real wealth of talent out there rather than him not being good enough imo.

At 18 years old he's much better than Longstaff or Anderson for starters.

He's still in the "i don't know what type of player he is," bracket, because he's young and I don't know which part of his game is going to be the highlight.

For me what stands out the most is his maturity. Alot of young players try and play the game at a million mile an hour, Miley is clean and crisp. His short range passing is superb, his decision making is great. I'd refer back to that assist to Isak last season.

Of course there are areas of his game we haven't seen yet. Can he make well timed runs into the box? Can he show defensive discipline?

Plenty of time for all that but really looking forward to seeing more of him. One thing is for certain, he couldn't have better mentors in Bruno, Tonali and of course Eddie Howe.

You've just highlighted the same stuff as me. Spot on. Very mature for his age.

Confused by those not seeing that he could end up being class.

Yes, he'll make mistakes, and not be as quick or as strong as fully fledged adult Premier league players, but he's never rushed. Infact, when he gets the ball the whole game around him seems to slow down (that's a very rare attribute to have), he makes the right decision most of the time, uses both feet, has and eye for pass, decent shot on him, and is still 18 Yrs old.

Be as negative as you want, he is one of the best midfield prospects in the country.
