  1. 1. Would you want a large singing/standing section at St James' Park?

    • Yes. I'm an existing season ticket holder and I would want to be a part of it

    • Yes. I'm an existing season ticket holder but wouldn't want to be part of it, but I would move to a seat somewhere else if the singing section was to be where I currently sit....as long as I was happy with the new seat.

    • No. The atmosphere is fine as it is.

    • No. The atmosphere needs to improve but this isn't the answer.

    • Yes. I'm just a member at the moment but would want one in the singing section.

    • Yes. I'm just a member at the moment but would want a season ticket in a non-singing section. But a singing section needs to happen to let people who want to sing be together

Wheres all the 18-25 year old being loud and rowdy. Even the corner is full of old cunts.

Don't think younguns thesedays are bothered about atmosphere just need to look how our away support has gone downhill. And yes I know it's not just our support before anyone says

After being in the gallowgate last couple games and decent atmosphere, it was absolutely shite  in the leazes end last night, embarrassing. One of them corners needs a standing singing area desperately.

Most of the 18-25 I have been sat around in the last 2 seasons or so could barely give a shite about the game.  Most sit on their phones (nee idea what they are doing as the signal is an abomination) talking about their "accas" and piss off for their chicken chunks and chips on 32 minutes, not returning until about 10 minutes inside the second half.

Aye, I was in the LW4C corner and it was like a fucking morgue.  Didn't help that the blokes breath next to me was absolutely honking as well.

2/10.

I still maintain that a new stadium, with all the bells and whistles of amazing acoustics won’t change the fact that we will see an increase of day trippers and match going fans that aren’t bothered about making a noise but want to be a part of it. It’s already an issue now.

It’s not an easy fix at all.

It’s painfully obvious though that the Club don’t really care, as they can pat themselves on the back that we have a wonderful atmosphere due to the hard work of Wor Flags whom give the media the photo they want for pre match before the atmosphere inevitably dies off after 10 minutes if we haven’t scored.

It’s all so avoidable but the Club won’t care a fig.

was a noticeably different crowd up next to us, felt like a cup game. people selling on their tickets due to it being a Monday night?

Full of older couples near me, which isn't exactly weird but certainly isn't conducive to a rowdy atmosphere when you're on a date night with your lass[emoji38]

Nothing changes until they facilitate a massive move, my fear is that most people have some weird sexual attraction to their seat.

In a lot of grounds now there are large sections of unofficial standing sections from what I have seen on TV whereas there is nothing of the sort at our place.

You'd have thought the Gallowgate would be a prime candidate for this but it must be the age demographic of ST holders moaning that those wanting to stand should sit down.

I imagine our STH average age is in the 50s with no sign of that changing due to no more being issued. Younger lads either can't get in, are priced out or due to the way tickets are sold can't sit together so don't bother. Take your pick.

Read something a while back that the average age of a Chelsea ST holder is 58. I reckon the only reason ours will be lower than that is due to all the youngsters in Level 7.

It's only going to go up as well.

It’s clearly an issue amongst all major clubs in this country. Certainly is at Liverpool.

Obviously no easy fix. Can’t very well start issuing a ‘cull’ of ST holders over X age, and demand completely outstripping supply everywhere makes it difficult to make any kind of commercial case for issuing new ST tickets to younger fans.

Would probably need one of the big clubs to move to a new stadium that significantly increased capacity (so realistically that’s us, Chelsea, Villa or maybe Man Utd) and decide ‘right, we’re issuing 5k new ST’s to fans U25’.

Wouldn’t be good for PSR, would be a nightmare to administer the logistics of picking who gets one and probably gets loads of criticism from everyone above 25.

Anyone know if Spurs issues any new ST’s when they moved?

They issued loads of new sesson tickets when they moved. They had around 28k ST holders at White Hart Lane and they now have 42,500 general admission ST holders and a further 8,000 Premium ST holders.

I'm not sure what the answer is but it's increasingly becoming a problem and it's not going to go away.

Any idea how they determined who got them? I’m assuming the demand massively outweighed the number made available?

Don't know mate but they have 90,000 on their waiting list so aye they'd have been massively over subscribed!

Not sure if they issue loyalty points to members. I know every year a small number of season tickets are put on sale at Chelsea and as they issue LPs to members, that's how they determine who is eligible to apply for one.

This. When I first started going on my own as a youngun I went to cup and UEFA Cup home games with a group of mates. Easy to get (relatively cheap) tickets together because we didnt sell out anything other than league (or big cup) games.  We sang and chanted all the way through.

No chance of that now.

Front block of the Gallowgate at the East Stand side was unofficial standing in 22/23, was a class atmosphere and good mix of ages, plenty of U25’s

Couple of games into the 23/24 season all the ST holders in there got a letter from the club telling them to sit down or lose their ST’s

Watching football sat down is shit for atmosphere. Easiest way to suck the life out of a crowd is to have them sat down. People are far more likely to get involved if they’re standing up.

Same happens at music gigs.

All of A stood and possibly some of B (the B nearer the goal). @Paully would know as B is his territory

22/23 was before the safe standing, so you also had the corner sections all unofficially stood up too
