Keith Barrett knew him. Remember when I first started travelling away with him in 1994 there was a big Union Jack flag over the back window of his bus with "Mungo Mags" written across the middle.

Pre match should be the 2004 approved sequence of Blitzkrieg Bop, Alan Price's version of the Blaydon Races, O Fortuna just before the teams come out then Local Hero.  Never bettered imo, despite the cheesiness of Alan Price's Blaydon Races the parps ringing out though the shit PA were so evocative

Couldn't give a fuck what he does HT or post game but I wish he'd sack off New Radicals and Status Quo. And happy birthday messages

Still remember when he got Mungo Jerry, aka Ray Dorset, to perform for us at the Trafford Park Hotel before the Semi Final v Spurs! What a day that was [emoji38]

Used to be great arriving into various towns and cities across the Country with Somebody stole my wife or Lady Rose blasting out of the tape player! Great days.

Was telling this story to the wife only the other day. Prompted by "In the summertime" being played in an Albufeira bar while we were on holiday. It was indeed a fantastic day. Quite surreal.

absolutely the canonical version imo. never noticed, as an inattentive youth at the match, how completely insane the arrangement is.

Soz to be so off topic but watch Alan Price hanging out with Bob Dylan in Newcastle here. Playing piano with a bottle of broon on it at the end

I do believe that was when there was a walkout by the crowd because the folk acoustic set was replaced with electric instruments, remember reading about it

The electric controversy was the year after. He toured UK 65 and 66. Played the City Hall in 65 and Odeon 66.

Fair play to The Corner (and, most likely, Heron) there, mind, tremendous backing at the end in particular.
