It doesn’t take much to get some peoples knickers in a twist.

The club look at hundreds of players and they will also know the squad needs some filling out, unless you want to see Ritchie etc in the bench again next season, so there could well be additions at good prices that aren’t straight into the first 11.

It's not his lack of ability It's his I injury record. We want to sign players we can actually play

We need more English if anything, Brexit Mags. Why not Gibbs-White, ESR and Gallagher for £300 million to replace the Brazilian lads and proceed to finish 9th.

It is, without doubt, player nationality that dictates performance and results.

“He’d have finished that had he not been so English”

Stop all this crying about FFP for goodness sake.

We have good people in charge that have been excellent in getting good players in.

It's all going to be navigated just fine and dare I say much better than the majority of other clubs.

Surely it warrants a few ‘tears’. It is frustrating as hell and where better to vent?

Everyone is going to be in the same boat eventually.

I trust our bunch better than most to manage the whole situation.

It will be fine.

How? As the rules currently exist the teams with most income from sponsers, corporate etc. will always hold a distinct advantage.

The bigger they are the stronger they become.

And how is that working out for them?

Looks like it's done Chelsea and Man Utd a world of good.

Our sponsorship will come along and before then we'll be smarter and better in the market like we have been.

I really don't see why we need to sell our best players unless they actively want to leave tbh.

We need to bring in more young players to develop and sell for profit. I've no idea who like, but that's what scouting is for.

Nobody is saying that these clubs won’t face difficult periods in the same way that a club outside of the established six cannot climb in to one of the top six positions in the league for a season or two; however, the advantages that they have in terms of finances due to their standing in the English game when financial fair play was introduced will always give them more of an advantage to rise back to the top.

That is what the problem is and why people are complaining about it.

They see their natural position as being the top six with the likes of us, Villa, Leicester and West Ham as having a natural position of seventh to thirteenth.

What is Chelsea's position going to be if they fail to qualify for the CL again? Man Utd are also already butting up against FFP, hence why they had to loan Arambat. They’re either going to have to change the rules again to suit them, or end up hoisted on their own petards

More financial power means nothing without the right manager and structure behind the scenes.

Most of these top clubs throw away a hell of a lot of money and are far lazier and less inventive in the market because of their riches.

I'm not convinced they have this great advantage people keep talking about. They are far more likely to blow £90 million on some current over hyped player than go for the £30 million player that isn't as hyped, but who the data is identifying as being a stud.

What is this turgid "Brexit Mags" toss people keep mentioning?  Also what would Brazilians have to do with Brexit? ?

True, but if they do have the right manager and structure behind the scenes then they can spend more money and slot right back into the top 4 positions ahead of teams who spend less. We finished ahead of Liverpool, Spurs and Villa last season, they've bought big stars into their teams and now they are top 4 we aren't.

Long term perhaps we'll catch them up, but that's not going to save this season.

Villa and Spurs have bypassed us because they have had no European commitments. Liverpool have the Europa league where they have largely been able to use their backups.
