NUFC Transfer Rumours

Toney won’t go anywhere that he won’t start

Then he best retire or lower his expectations to a side wards move.

Wherever he goes as a step up, it would be on rotational minutes or he nails it and becomes undroppable.

Probably what’s spurred him on.

No guaranteed starter there if Arteta prefers Havertz up front rather than CM.

His options aren’t vast, but he’s made it sure he’s leaving Brentford one way or another. This summer for a fee, next summer for nothing.

There are teams who would be considered a step that he’d start for, it’s a case of who seriously wants him.

???? Why, Havertz is looked poor as a striker.

He does by most part, but Arsenal went on a run with him there and Arteta probably values certain stats he gave there, I.e. his pressing.

Think he wants to be playing European football, either this season or next. If he wants to be a guaranteed starter, he’s option is probably Spurs or bust. Man Utd out / Liverpool / Man City all out as they don’t need him. Villa have Watkins as main guy. We have Isak, Arsenal debatably have Havertz, and could go lower cost striker if it meant going big on a CM.

Outside that, he’s looking at moving to say West Ham.

A City ITK having the first idea what Eddie Howe wants? Pure bullshit.

Not that he's a bad player.. is he not a left winger/forward?

He can play down the left but is seen as a left footed right winger.

Presume we have enquired if there is any truth in it, he could be perfect for what we want due to him being a high IQ wide player with a high ceiling.

Don’t rule out Chelsea or a move outside the PL

Wonder if he’d try his luck abroad if the right chance came in for him - Atleti/Juve or someone similar. Seems a lack of obvious options for him in the Prem.

Starting to look like our transfer window has been compromised by the PSR debacle, then maybe the ownership and staff changes as well.

Not saying the window can't still be a good one, but the fact we haven't signed or sold anyone of note most of the way through July is telling.

I mean there are plenty of sides who haven’t done much.

Mean, unlike most sides, our team is fine come first game. It’s just the RW which would be a shame, but it’s not like it’s a dysfunctional team that’s poor going into first couple of games, everyone knows their jobs and chemistry good.

Just about adding the right quality in two key areas (CB/RW) and being opportunistic elsewhere. Happy to play waiting game if it means nailing the main two.

Edit: Like if we can’t be getting 6 points first two games with what we’ve got in the team so far, then it’s going to be a poor season.

He does seem like an arsehole to me - got recorded that time having a go at Brentford only to go and get banned, Brentford stick by him then when he comes back he hardly sets the world alight with only 4 goals in 17 appearances. Just to try and say he only wants to go to a club that wins trophies - jog on mate as far as I’m concerned.

How long is Wilson out for?

If a while, then surely a striker becomes the new priority position?

Might still make the first game

What’s the motivation for him to leave Arsenal? He’s 16, surely he has a route through if he keeps developing? Maybe he has issues with the coaches there or just wants some serious dollar. Just feel like being at a very good academy at a club who are challenging for the premier league seems like an odd foundation for wanting to get out

Sort of talent we should be offering a good pathway to. Can’t see the appeal of being stuck behind Hoijland and Zirkzee.

Other clubs might be promising him and even quicker pathway to play if he's really good.

That other kid they have Nwaneri, looks very talented and is the best of their prospects, and he barely gets a sniff.
