I'd be amazed if we sell AG when we've just qualified for Europe, even more so if we replace him with a forrin.

Or Barnes for that matter.

We're not short of English club grown players though. You only need 4 in a European squad - and we've got loads. It's the 4 club grown players we are short of.

Fair enough, but when we're putting the likes of Neave on the bench along with two goalkeepers I'm not sure we're going to be looking to sell anyone who plays a lot of football.

You play Cunha as RW - makes perfect sense to me - don’t need to do anything with Gordon

So you have him cut inside on his weaker foot? Or you ask him to go down the line and cross? Not convinced personally.

Could we sign Krul, Woodman, Forster or Alnwick to use as our third choice European keeper to fill the club grown quota?

Given the current approach to goalkeepers they’ll sign all four.

Alnwick any good these days? He was awful when he was chucked in during our crisis a few years ago. I think the ship may have sailed for Krul and Forster

Could do aye. Surprised it hasn't been rumoured already, probably because we've got a million keepers. Would mean we could name one more outfield player which would be useful.

At the moment we're going to have a squad of 22 in Europe (21 non club then players + Longstaff). If Longstaff goes, we'd only be able to name 21 as we'd have no club grown players. Worth noting Miley doesn't need to be named in the squad as he's under 21.

They wouldn't have to do anything though hopefully just be a squad filler

In terms of PSR though, if you sold Gordon for say £80m and replaced with Cunha for £60m or whatever, it'd allow more signings?

Similar to how selling ASM for £25m allowed us to go and get Barnes & Livramento.

I know those European rules have been in place for a while but with PSR making it so beneficial to sell our homegrown youngsters it's just such a mess.

Being forced the sell the likes of Anderson is frustrating in these circumstances

That'd only really work now if we kept selling a player every year for 80m. Or increased our commercial revenue by that much.

Not sure to be honest. I could just see him being the big hitter that might go to enable 3-4 top signings. He seems in a bracket £20m or so above a group of players who I reckon could come in and do the same job. Not sure we could do it with Bruno, Tonali, Isak for instance.

Selling Gordon to make way for flavour of the month Cunha. Fuck off :D

Think he's abit better than flavour of the month like

25 goals in 58 Prem games and 11 assists. Playing in a low to mid table team as well...

Certainly is a plus point for Cunha that we're all even having this argument. He can genuinely play in 3/4 different positions and plays them all very well. I've no doubt he would fit into Howes style of play and you'd think it would allow us to be a even more flexible in attacking areas.
