Same every year, season ends, transfer hysteria begins but everyone and their uncle is away on holiday (unless you're skint Man U who piss off to get humiliated in the far east) so nothing happens for a couple/few weeks. It's the only break they get, especially this year with no proper tournaments going on and yet folks expect it to be like black Friday for footballers.

Total games played by Newcastle over both seasons: 51 + 48 = 99 games

Percentage of Games Missed:

(37 games missed / 99 total games) * 100% = 37.37%

Therefore, Joelinton has missed 37 games through injury at Newcastle over the last two seasons (23/24 and 24/25), which equates to 37.37% of Newcastle's total games in that period.

This is a bit of an issue mind, thanks for sharing these numbers I thought he missed a few games but 37% is a lot.

But considering that Eddie even changed formations to avoid using one of our backup CMs I think he is probably well aware of the need we have of more quality depth there.

Or similar quality players for cheaper prices... I guess I'd be content with DCL

Ramsdale is an absolute ADHD riddled liability and I’d prefer to keep Popey or Dubz than squander millions of precious funds on him. We should be aspiring to pass Arsenal, not take one of their failure signings.

I think we might end up sticking with Pope anyway tbh, if the budget for new players is limited. A lot will depend on who's available once the cartel clubs have done their buying, same as every year. 

 

I think our main priorities might end up being a right sided CB and forward. If we have money left over after getting those, then we might look at keepers.

I’m the same. Unless we can get a keeper of Pope’s quality but with better feet then we shouldn’t spend money on a keeper at all.

 

Id be fine with not signing a keeper as long as we get another quality CM in. It’s vital! Both ideally but..

Having ADHD might well be helpful for a goal keeper. Quick thinking, being adaptable, responding quickly to changes, being very aware of your environment and noticing everything that goes on around are all handy. 
planning, long term thinking, high levels of executive functioning and being well organised are not essential for being a goal keeper. ‘Impulsivity’ otherwise known as acting without thinking is a useful trait in lots of circumstances. 
I say this as someone who’s had ADHD for 57 years and who’s worked in child mental health services for 24, so this is not ‘bloke down the pub’ wisdom. 
 

I think Pickford probably has it. He struggles mostly when he’s got a bit of time to think but he’s a brilliant shot stopper. On balance his strengths far outweigh is weaknesses.
