McCormick Posted yesterday at 11:43 Share Posted yesterday at 11:43 Lot of people disrespecting Elanga here. He’s one of the best young wingers in the prem ffs. Probably the fastest player in the league, both footed, work-rate for days and good character. We could do a lot worse.
SUPERTOON Posted yesterday at 11:44 Share Posted yesterday at 11:44 Fwiw, I think we double down on Howe type players, mainly ones who can press all match. I don’t see us moving to more technical ones.
McCormick Posted yesterday at 11:48 Share Posted yesterday at 11:48 He’s as Howe-coded a winger as you can get. He’d be class for us imo.
Erikse Posted yesterday at 11:50 Share Posted yesterday at 11:50 (edited) I'd be happy with Elanga. I think he's more consistent than Barnes. Will probably do more for us over the course of a season. I know they're not playing in the same position, point is that we're kind of happy with the Barnes signing, and we paid around 40m for him. I wonder how much Elanga would cost after this season, though? Didn't we apparently get a 50m bid rejected before this season, which was his best so far? I think Elanga will always cause problems with his pace and directness, and likely looks even better in our team. Quite relaxed with whatever direction we go with. AyeDubbleYoo Posted yesterday at 12:00 Share Posted yesterday at 12:00 I like how they’ve started adding “I’m told” and stuff like that as if it means they don’t have any role in establishing the actual truth.

He goes by people and makes things happen down either side. Much more technical and better dribbler than our current wingers.

Tsunami Posted yesterday at 12:12 Share Posted yesterday at 12:12 Got an unexpected nod that a “major” signing is expected by the end of this mini transfer. Got a separate message that failure to qualify for the CL would have forced the sale of a top player. Both player ambition and the need to freshen up the squad. PSR has to change, the implications for the likes of us, Villa, Forest or any club wanting to really go for it and have the money for it seem to get more desperate every year. Fail to make the CL and you risk your whole longer term strategy going up the wall and a new cycle begins. Sky 6 excluded. It’s crazy that we’ve gone 3 windows without a signing. The more I think of it the more I think Eddie is working absolute miracles. To have gone 4th, 7th, 5th while being the 10th biggest spenders in that time (12th in the past two seasons) is remarkable. Rather than base it on Gordon and Barnes, or a three game sample. I live in France, PSG are on all the time, Barcola when he's picked plays wide left as does Kvarakvaratskhelia which is why he's often on the bench and presumably not that happy. He would be an upgrade on Gordon and Barnes but he's not signing for anyone to play on the right wing. Yep that’s the thing, one bad season and your done. We could do with a few of the big 6 supporting yes teams dropping out of the premier league or actually showing some level of ambition. They need to realise teams like Newcastle, villa and forest are not the threat, it’s their big 6 buddies. If we had a season like spurs or Man U we’d be absolutely fucked, but they just get to go again.

Cool. I'm able to watch the games just the same as you do too. The PSG front three typically interchange all the time. They aren't even static. Barcola ends up through the middle and on the right throughout the game. It's the same with both Kvaratskhelia and Dembele. Well see it again tonight in the final. I imagine he's more concerned with not playing as much going forward, especially with how much Desire Doue is coming along, and the fact PSG always keep spending.
