Elanga over Madueke for me purely for the Swedish link up with Isak.

I’m Swedish. I also happen to be a massive fan. Low wages.

Grealish on loan? I think he could revive his form-career under Howe, and we could do something like half of his salary + 6-8m loan fee which covers his another half of salary for City. that way it doest blow our salaries within other players.

wouldnt do a permanent deal as not sure how ambitious he is long term. feels a bit like he gave up after their treble win, like won it all, what else there is to fight for...

but short term, in a WC year he might give his all...

Love the Swedes and always enjoyed my time over there.

In all seriousness, I think the link up and camaraderie would be excellent for both him and Isak, as well as the wider team.

Madueke gives me mercenary vibes (based on purely conjecture).

If Howe gets these results out of a 30yr old, he'll work wonders with Elanga or Madueke.

Threw Barcola in, would love a mad bid for him, beats them all for me.

So much for journos saying we will get one in during the "mini window"

This summer is becoming tiring with the amount of shite already

Which journalists said that?

A few said we'd be active towards the PSR deadline.

Who said that? All I’ve ever read is we’ll have 2 in for beginning of July.

There's no real need for us to be active in this mini window, aside from potentially missing out on targets.

We aren't in the CWC, the PSR deadline isn't until the end of the month and the players won't be back for preseason until July so bringing someone in on 30th June rather than 8th June doesn't make any difference.

I assume by "early", Howe means before preseason, unless he's clarified otherwise.

Why do this? Now there are 50 posts wasted on merits. Use realistic transfer thread instead

You've got 3011 posts, surely you know that's not how this forum works bud.

“Howe continued: “Speed is key for us and I have reiterated that many times internally. Speed is key because we have to be dynamic, we have to be ready to conclude things very quickly because good players don’t hang around for long. That’s always been my thought and my message on recruitment really because you can have a period when you think you have time - but then you look around quickly and you see that time has elapsed and you missed opportunities you won’t get again. That’s what we will be trying but the reality of that is it’s not always in your hands - but we will do our best to do things early.”

He couldn’t be clearer though he also said this just before the above which is quite revealing…

“As I said, we have to get the financials right, we have to get the other aspects of trying to sign a player right. Hopefully, we can do that.”

The Grealish rumour seems counter to all our normal transfers

- Past it

- "Big Six" cast off

- Loan (with no obligation to buy) and no doubt a large loan fee

- Basically a corpse at this point (29 going on 30).

29 going on 30 isnt old for a motivated and highly professional player see Trippier and Burn when they signed. Its just I don't think Grealish has the motivation or dedication to get back to the levels hes capable of.
