Fume incoming from rival fans

These fucking PIF owned Saudi clubs have totally misunderstood the assignment. They're supposed to sign our shit players for inflated figures. Not sign our good players for reasonable figures and sign our rivals shit players for inflated figures.

Sell them Longstaff for 60 million

Isn’t it just completely wrong what’s quoted there though? We bought for £40m, we have paid off how much so far? Like at least £30m. We sell for £70m then isn’t that an enormous profit?

That's what I thought. Almost paid off so that 100m would be pure profit a bit like when we sell an academy player. If Stefan is right and we don't get anything then PSR really is the fucking pits like

What Stefan is claiming is that UEFA FFP doesn’t recognise profit from related parties. It’s probably why in the last accounts the sale from ASM was marked down too.

Meh fuck UEFA they fined Barcelona only £500k for breaches of nearly £270m, They're a bunch of idiots.

If 100m for Joelinton gave us the ability to strengthen in the Premier League for 300m worth then I'd accept it although it would be tough to see him leave 😕

PSR is fucking shit if this is correct

He’s basically saying it because a PIF-club would be classed as related party transaction (according to UEFA), which don’t count as profit.

Which sounds incredibly subjective, and a legal minefield.

But next to no chance we’d sell him (yet), so all pretty irrelevant.

I can wake up one morning and go, ‘I fancy buying a Brazilian international Can I sign Joelinton? ‘You’d better ask the boss.’ ‘Yasir, can I sign Joelinton?’ ‘No, Yasir.’ Both me. Not me in bed with another bloke called Yasir'

To be fair we were willing to pay 60m for Geuhi last window, take pace out of the equation and Van Hecke is a much, much better player

You right, actually 60m for Van Hecke is probably about fair market value. But Brighton will likely demand more

Just checked his contract length, only 2 years left so perhaps we might have a chance getting him for about 60m

UEFA FFP seems even more daft than PL PSR, if that’s even possible.

UEFA’s regs don’t carry the same punishments as PL regs - we’d get a fine for a breach.  If we sold Joelinton to a PIF Saudi club for an inflated fee - say £50m - that would be almost entirely profit in PL PSR terms.

Yeah, 60m sounds about right if he's only got two years left and the club doesn't have an option for another year.

No, he’s right re related party transactions in UEFA regs - but the impact would be minimal.  PL regs are different.  After this contract extension last season, his book value worked out at about £7m, of which another £1.75m would have been amortised this season.  So his current book value would be about £5.25m - so if we sell him, we’d get the fee -£5.25m to play with - would could be huge if a PIF club overpays for him

I saw Van Hecke play against Finland on the other night. He was slow, clumsy, got a yellow and got subbed at HT. Ok that was just one game, and he has had a good season, but don't think he is the the right profile. We need pace at the back.

If you’re wanting someone solid with the passing ability of Schar, with prem experience that isn’t a near 30 year old  in Joachim Andersen, then Van Hencke is pretty much your only option tbh  .

I mentioned him a while back. Would be a good signing imo and doubt he goes for 60m too. No one’s paying that; he’s not high-profile enough to command that kind of fee with 2 years left. 45m and I reckon it gets done.

If anyone disputes a transfer fee for Joelinton, set up a projector at the hearing, show the entire Carabao Cup final and then show some "highlights" of Fabinho's last season at Liverpool.

Joelinton's fair fee with be at least double what Fabinho went for.

We need to stop buying players from the premier league as we end up with is completely protracted deals that don’t get over the line. It’s like a deliberate plan and all played out in a very public manner.

You've guessed it, from those clues.

The Scotsman mentions that Newcastle (and other clubs) are interested in Celtic's winger Nicholas Kuhn. I don't know if his name has already been floated about in this thread. He's a very good player though.

He was linked earlier in the season, I believe.
