McCormick
I can kinda see where they're coming from. If he manages to have a solid, injury-free season, they could suddenly find themselves fielding offers from several top clubs. Why sell now at a discount? We will need to pay close to what that value would be. £60m odd. Pretty much what we did with Tino. Edited 8 hours ago by The College Dropout

Atalanta has forcefully reiterated its no to Newcastle , who in recent days has tested the waters for the central defender from Bergamo, offering significant figures. The Goddess' response was dry: between 40 and 50 million, a valuation that far exceeds the player's current market value. Despite last season's injuries, in fact, the Nerazzurri club considers the 2003-born player an asset on which to base the defense of the future." Assuming the translation is vaguely accurate, it seems to be saying that Atalanta is simultaneously saying he's not for sale... unless you offer us 40-50m euros, which they consider to be a "fuck off" price of sorts due to his injury? 50m euros would be about what we paid for Tino. I could see us paying up tbh Edited 8 hours ago by Bunk Moreland

Wouldn’t take what EH says on transfers at face value. Even if you did he never said we WOULD sign someone in June. Opportunities might arise in the last couple of days of June nothing more. He said he’d IDEALLY like a couple in in time for 7th July. Long way to go for both in transfer window terms.

Kid Icarus
Can only gauge from that, if it's true, that we've gone in suggesting a potential bid much, much lower than what they're asking for there. Edited 8 hours ago by Kid Icarus

STM
If we are interested in Scalvini and potentially Diomande, it seems highly unlikely that we wouldn't still retain an interest in Tapsoba. Add Guehi in there and im more than happy with the standard they are looking at.

Until we are we're going to have to make do with moves for players like these and hope Howe does his magic on them and hope they're injuries are behind them. See Livramento. Will we ever be in that position 🤔? It could take a couple of generations to get anywhere near it.

He said along the lines of we were vulnerable last year and clubs took advantage (Brighton, Forest). We are not vulnerable this year and might be in a position to do that to other clubs but wasn’t sure. If you make things up and get disappointed you only have yourself to blame. If you look closely there are no quotation marks in the article you’ve copied and paste which I’m sure you know what that means in a journalistic sense? Post the link please to examine further but even what you’ve posted confirms exactly what i said. “It doesn’t always work out like that” is the takeaway you need.
