That's keeping everyone fit as well, without considering squad depth too much. We probably need another 3 or 4 quality subs as well. 

A keeper, a CB and a RW to actually challenge and by challenge I mean be within 10 points. But depth is just as important as those 3, and without it you wont come close especially with the CL schedule now. Isak being somewhat regularly unavailable is a big hit to those aspirations as well. 

 

We are at least 3/4 seasons away from a squad with the ability to do that.

No training ground sponsor, no training kit sponsor, no stadium sponsor etc. 

 

It just points to our owners not being invested to the point of us being number 1, because if this was truly the aim we can't afford to leave anything on the table.

Ah OK, see what you're saying. I'm not sure I believe there are companies queuing up to sponsor our training ground or training kit mind. That's very low profile stuff.

 

And I don't want a stadium sponsor if it means changing the name.

Fulham have bid a decent amount on Romulo at Goztepe, another Brazilian striker, and are still negotiating.

 

Was watching some clips of the Romulo guy yesterday as I'd never heard of him, and was quite surprised. Think he looks decent.

 

 

Not seen much of him myself, but that Guessand sounds handy.

I'm OK with the name change if it means loads of extra money.  When Ashley did it it was just free advertising for his tat.  Everyone will always call it St James' Park anyway, until we move to a new ground

What about the young Spanish striker at Porto, would cost big money and could play Isak in the 10 role if Howe really is considering a change in formation.

 

Sounds crazy to think about playing Isak elsewhere, but sometimes we do struggle to get him involved and i think he’s much better when not receiving ball with his back to goal.

He's dangerous in the box, and has a lot of power and pace, but not sure people would like him.

 

His touch and control can be quite inconsistent.

Didn’t he fail his Chelsea medical too? Given their fetish for signings I didn’t think that was even possible.

Nah, wasn't familiar with Romulo at all.

 

Was only looking into him yesterday, and was quite taken back.

 

I doubt we'd be looking at someone like that though.

 

More likely to be someone with more Prem experience or playing in one of the higher ranked leagues.

Thats the thing init. Spurs training ground and kit is 20 million a year. We would probably be allowed half that. 

As Eales and Silverstone said, we shouldn't undersell ourselves atm by rushing into sponsorship deals. We should grow our brand and then sell ourselves when the brand is at its peak. 

From a fan perspective we will say let take 10 million now and re negotiate later as the brand grows. From a business perspective that makes no sense whatsoever.

Its not the big ticket stuff that sponsors are clamouring for but as debated we have had none at all for years. The club were actively looking as mentioned in the fan stuff last year.

 

Unless we can sign something massive to make up for it holding out now for say 10m  a season when we could have got say 4m 3 seasons ago (just to confirm plucking figures out if fresh air here). Also as debated previously signing something short term as a stop gap unless it would be used as a way to limit a new deal down the line could have helped the bottom line in the here and now.

Maybe they're waiting for a few resolutions regarding PL clubs v the Premier League before deciding a longer term strategy. That's all I've got, otherwise, what the fuck are they waiting for
