NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

We really need to pull something out the bag in the next 8 days or we're in for a long and painful slog of a season and an embarrassment on the European stage, Howe will have us competing to the best of our ability but without the bodies needed he can't create miracles.

To see names such as McGinn, Thiaw and Jackson is a real anticlimax and feels like a backwards step, I know we need bodies but at the same time I feel like we're getting them for the sake of getting them and instead of kicking on we're treading water while the legacy clubs are all jumping on jet skis.

What an utterly depressing and dispiriting off season this has turned out to be. We need a big win to lift spirits and we need one before the season starts.

Exactly as it’s meant to go! Anti competition needs hauling through the courts!

I've been saying that for years and the club have done nothing to challenge it, we are obviously ok with the rules.

I admire Shadow Puppets continuous optimism window will be rescued by end of August because his contact close to the business transfers tells him that :D

It really is going the way of the Ashley windows, it will go from we are targeting a few signings, to we will get one, to Isak staying is a big signing.

As long as the sum total of our parts is stronger with more depth by the end of the window I’m good with that. I’ll trust Eddie to get a tune out of whoever we buy in. They’ve already proven they won’t take on a player for the sake of it if at least somebody on their list isn’t available. If Isak stays because those at the cloob believe it’s workable without any damage to the group beyond sorting this out atm then that would be huge. He’s in the shop window and would have to perform if he wants away next summer.

Agree with this if Isak stays we don't really need plug in and play first 11 signings other than a centre back. Bulking up the bench with better options wouldn't be bad, our bench last season was really weak

I’m just clinging to my optimism that it will turn out OK by the 1st of September. I’ll judge it then. Up against the cartel for the same players was always probably going the way it has. It’s a sign of intention but the pond we are fishing in needs a review [emoji38]

In order to challenge it meaningfully, in the courts, we would have to have suffered loss, that's why City challenged it, because they had a deal disallowed and is why we are supporting City, we don't really need another case of our own.

Was confident in the Guehi deal last summer mind [emoji38]

We have suffered loses because of these rules. We aren't bothered about them it's just performative at this stage.

We need to go back going for players a little bit lower than the pool we are currently shopping in, think Bruno Isak Botman Tonali, get the player in just before they hitting the upwards curve.

Ideally we sort the Isak mess out or get a striker signing in by next weekend or it's Osula/ more likely Gordon up top Vs Villa

Paul Mitchell is a prat but he seems to be right that our recruitment currently isn't fit for purpose, doesn't really help that we have no executives at the top.

Come September 1st things could and should look a lot more rosey in the garden! 🤞🏻

On the upside the intent has been there this summer. Just bad timing with clubs that can out bid us at every corner thwarting us.

Far from the worst window ever but certainly one of the most frustrating. Elanga is a great pickup and Ramsdale is a smart one with potential. We will get a couple more in for sure. Hopefully 4.

Surely there is two strikers on either page 1 or 2 of this list who are;

a) available

b) actually good

c) willing to move to the NE

Looking at the names there, really drives home what a poor era this is for quality centre-forwards.

We haven't though, not materially, we haven't had a deal knocked back and even then any case would take years, City's is way more advanced.

So we've had a deal knocked back, aka have materially suffered. The rules have affected our ability to compete.

Your obviously an etu bru copium enjoyer so I'll leave you to it.

Would like the club to put some resources into challenging PSR; a barrier to progression and trade. I wonder whether PIF are awaiting the Man City outcome to determine their next steps.

We can only hope. Watching them spunk millions on our rivals cast offs whilst towing the line is a chew at times.

The more I see PIF enabling the cartel in these Saudi deals the more I think they aren't serious about us.

Just more serious about their own league. In context that’s the right priority. Not for us obviously. Cuts twice.

We need some strong buys, because whilst our initial wave was nearly all hits, there can be an argument our more recent signings could end up being more the opposite.

Since start of last summer it’s looking like Kelly, Osula, Ramsdale and Elanga. We need Elanga to be a certified hit, as Kelly is gone after not helping on the pitch, Osula likely to go same way, Ramsdale just a desperation loan and then it’s Elanga.

Chasing players like Thiaw doesn’t point to it being hits either.

Can we go in for Dibling please?

From the little I saw of him last season, he looks like he Will go on to become

a worldie...

If we could find a space for him, definitely. Looks very talented. Would probably lose out to Everton though the way this Summer is going.
