magorific
Zero interest in Rashford. I'm told he comes with a whole lot more baggage than just a dubious attitude.

There's talk that both ourselves and Man United are the most keen. I imagine we'd have a strong chance of convincing him, with the progress fellow young English players, Hall and Tino, have shown, and also because his position is a glaring weakness for us right now. Apparently Southampton want at least £21 million if they sell. Would people be happy with him coming in as a starter on the right? Still quite young and inexperienced, so wondered what people think. No brainer. Also, the price would be double that at least.
KaKa
Yeah, the £21 million seems to be a bit off. Looks like that has come from the Man Utd side, and what they are looking to bid. So how high would you guys go for him, based on what he's shown so far?
Mike
22 minutes ago, Ikon said: I’d rather have Dibling than Mbeumo, personally. Not because Dibling is as good now. But I love seeing great potential grow with the club and become “our” stars rather than buying “ready now” playera from other PL clubs (especially then). Plus in a few years already “older” players resale value will go go down quite a bit. Modern football and all that… I'm incredibly capable of pretending Mbuemo is just some rough diamond we unearthed, tbf. I'll gaslight the fuck outta myself. Menace
Having Dibling ahead of a guy thats been arguably one of the best RW in the prem for 2-3 seasons is crackers. Mbeumo is the type of signing to get us top 4. Bored of discussing how much future players will be sold in the future or "how much their value will increase" Edited 2 hours ago by Menace

Yes. Exactly the type of player we should be looking at. 21m seems very low though for a player of his ability, nationality, age and potential with 2.5 years left on his contract. 12 minutes ago, KaKa said: Yeah, the £21 million seems to be a bit off. Depends how much we can spend and what it means for other positions, but provided we have enough to get a right footed CB in too in the summer, I wouldn't start questioning if it was senseless spending until we got north of £50m. AyeDubbleYoo
Seems an unlikely fit for Howe, although I suppose he could phase him in gradually like with Hall.

This is why I've been saying recently that there has to be some balance because we should still be aiming for Europe every year. Ideally Dibling should be coming in as a backup to someone more experienced starting in a top league and with some European experience also. And we then move on the likes of Almiron and Murphy. How realistic that all is though, I don't know. But then again, it depends on how highly they rate Dibling's potential. If they project him making the same sort of quick transition as Hall has, then he'll be worthy of starting in that position. Will all have to be considered. Granted I've not seen a great deal of him, but from what I have seen, he seems to work hard both ways of the pitch and (especially for his age) is quite strong and fast, the holy trifecta for a Howe player If you've got quality on the ball on top of that, which he seems to have, you're golden. Bored of discussing how much future players will be sold in the future or "how much their value will increase" But what we are seeing from Mbuemo, is that his peak? So either paying a premium to get something that’s a slight drop off, or back your scouting system /stats that says Dibling can match with more to his game to go on further. I’d say we’d get more out of Isak with Dibling in the side, then we would with Mbeumo.
Menace
Considering he's what 25? Not really no. Dibling you're betting on potential. Mbeumo you're betting on proven results. Again - these type of signings Dibling etc are fantastic if you are already established, but how far can Eddie really take us with a team just full of "future potential" rather than players who are ready to make a difference now. Mbeumo contributions in our current team would have us second/third I'd imagine.
Zero
It’s simple if Bruno is sold to Man City, then go for Mbuemo if not, then go for Dibling

And that is finding someone more proven that is currently undervalued, or who is still in a league where they can be had for a lower fee. It's going to be very interesting to see how we navigate this in the next few windows.

Good points, I just meant a very young player who is coming in a position where we need a starter ASAP. Medium term I’ve no doubt it would be great. Ikon
How do people think Mbeumo would work in a team that isn’t mainly about transitions? Because I think if we are to evolve properly then we will have to become more possession based whether we like it or not. Not mostly good when there’s tons of transitions and space. Sibierski
Probably doing Mbemuo a disservice, but I don’t see much between him and Barnes, if both played consistently on their strongest wings. What we lack badly in the side in final third, is someone who can get ball on half turn in pockets, so whilst Mbeumo is strong output, I don’t think he moves us needle wise. Just be shifting goals around the team, and results staying the same with similar struggles in particular games. Ideally you sign both though, as Mbeumo can be 2nd striker too, so both him and Dibling are getting many minutes and starts across the season. But we can’t unless some wild new deals come in or Bruno goes for £100m.
Ikon
I prefer a winger with more flair and guile. A creative type of winger. Edited 1 hour ago by Ikon

I’m with you, at the start of the season I’d expected us to lean back to full on press we had success with but we arnt heading in that direction anymore. We need more creativity in wide areas. Olise (although never likely) would have been a perfect signing for this season. Edited 1 hour ago by Nine
Whitley mag
Bakayoko would offer us the trickery and can go both ways, obvious caveat being it’s the Dutch league and been a few flops from there.

Mazzy
I'd certainly take Mbuemo or Semenyo over Dibling right now no contest. Not saying I wouldn't like Dibling, but we really could do with a player who can perform and be trusted immediately. I would imagine if Dibling came in January we'd barely see him get a game until next season knowing how Howe likes to slowly introduce new young players.
