Isn't that every player?

Nah, even when Gordon’s not on it he’s just average. That’s the comparison for me, value wise.

top players should never look shite.

How can you have possibly seen Brentford enough. Compared to being able to watch Gordon every week and arrive at that conclusion? Don’t agree on Gordon either, FWIW. He has plenty of games where he is miles off it and not contributing.

Salah looked absolute shite against PSG and us and he’s the favourite for the Balon d’Or. Isak has had games for us where he’s barely been involved. It happens.

I do agree on not wanting Mbuemo at the price he’d cost. Feels like he would take up 50-75% of our transfer budget and I don’t think he is worth that at all.

I do expect Longstaff to leave but doesn’t that only leave us with Miley as a homegrown player in Europe next year and does he even count given he is U21?  Think that means we will have to do with an even smaller squad than last time in Europe.

Who is paying 6 million pounds for Matt Targett?

Bargain at that price. Serviceable lower PL/upper Champ full back. Seen far worse players go for way way more.

Romero (Spurs), up for sale in the summer if he doesn't sign a new contract.

Depends on the price ofcourse, but he's only 26. I'd take him here without a doubt. Can be a bit rash and is certainly likely for a red card or two across a season but I think it's worth the risk if we could get him for a good price.

Too Argentinian. Be class in Spain or Italy mind.

Crazy how many of them already play for Chelsea, Man C and Spurs in particular. Especially Chelsea. Proper FM tactics.

IMO it's more a sign of lazy journalism, as I have my doubts when it comes to how much knowledge a journalist for Goal has about youth players worldwide – beyond those already "known" due to being at "big" clubs, as well as those at "smaller" clubs who's had interest shown in them by "big" clubs.

Just from a Norwegian perspective, they've listed Sverre Nypan at #15 – yet in reality, Sindre Walle Egeli looks an even bigger talent. Difference between the two being that Nypan has experienced clubs like Arsenal and Man City explicitly expressing interest by inviting him to visit their facilities, which in turn has been broadly covered by national and international media. Meanwhile, Egeli (less  than 6 months Nypan's senior) has excelled in the Danish Superliga and already been given his debut for the national team. Yet, Egeli isn't even on the list... :dontknow:

Dean Huijsen would be a really exciting signing, and he feels like the perfect profile of player for us. Though, given we've said we'll be operating differently from now on, it feels a bit of a bait and switch.

We aren't getting Huijsen. The time to get him was last summer, but we fumbled that.

He'll go to Real Madrid or an elite side and we'll look elsewhere. Maybe go back in for that Tapsoba from Leverkusen?

Huijsen is proven now and very young. You don’t get to the top by taking punts that might work out. Pay the money and give him a super long contract. The CB slot is then done for the next 5-10 years.

“We should get the NEXT Huijsen!” Is something I hear a lot and it annoys me. If we’re speaking in hypotheticals why not get the NEXT Van Dijk? Sell Isak for big money and get the NEXT Isak for 20m? I’m being flippant obviously but it still annoys me.

But we could have taken the punt last summer and got him for the really low fee Bournemouth got him for. Surely that’s the way to try and do it given the restraints we find ourselves under ?

I wouldn't describe someone who's had less than 20 games in the premier league "proven" but I do see the overall point your making.

What were the PSR rules when Liverpool signed VVD? Genuine question.

I know, I know PSR but it’s just such a lazy comment to make. Not every player has a cheaper regen you can just buy. If he’s young, quality and we have the budget for it then just do it. We can’t afford to stagnate on gambling on whether a player can make it. Get them in and push us up the table.

Didn’t they sell Coutinho and buy him Allison and Salah with the proceeds?

 You not heard of PSR mate? It's the only fucking thing we talk about these days, surely you haven't missed it.

There's players to be had. If the rumours are true and we were close to signing Khusanov for ÂŁ30M then I have full faith in Mitchell/Howe to unearth a few gems for a good price. Spending ÂŁ50-60M on 1 player when there's glaring gaps over the squad isn't wise.
