NUFC Transfer Rumours

Sometimes there’s no need to complicate things.

Huijsen for £50m, Trafford for £20m and Dibling for £40m.

Sell Longstaff for £15m and 1-2 others combined for £10m.

Net spending at £85m.

It’ll make us competitive for top 3.

What happens with the back up striker option?

We need more quality in depth. Have done OK with injuries this year but the European games next could decimate the current squad.

We need a purple in the RW position for me, I’m sure Mitchell must be able to find one in Europe for the £40-£50 bracket.

Some of our targets will be UCL dependent too IMO. Opens up more opportunistic moves.

Kulu / Kubo are two I fancy us to revisit. Think Kulu I’d actually enjoy not just because of his talent, but it would be the first proper dick swinging move from us as a club that says “We’re better than you, and will always be better from now on”.

Spurs are one of the sides we have to permanently move ahead off, and that would signal intention.

What? Would they not want like £70-80m for Kulisevski. That’d be a huge waste of money on our budget and not even sure he’d necessarily want the move anyway.

If that much, then sure, go elsewhere.

But it’s worth testing the waters if they have no Europe. They’ve spent some serious net money last few seasons and likely need to move on one or two to continue improving their squad so can’t be picky if certain players haven’t got markets.

If they were to make Tel permanent (be questionable if they did), something has to give in their wingers collection.

Are Spurs in a position where they need to sell to buy? I wouldn’t have thought so myself? I thought the fans complaints were because they didn’t spend enough or on the players they need. Despite not actually paying back huge amounts on the stadium or having a big wage bill vs turnover.

What do you think he would cost then? Surely in today’s market even £65-70m is too low for him? Which would still be massive money for us.

Has his form not dropped off a cliff after his earlier successes under Ange, as well? I know they’re a bit shit. But they’re still a very attacking side.

I know it’s not purely about G+A. But Jacob Murphy has more goal involvements in the league than him and I’m guessing he’d be playing on the right here in this hypothetical scenario. Despite moving about and often being more central there.

I’ve seen a few people say Delap isn’t gonna move to us sit on the bench but I think he’d play a lot of football here.

Obviously with European football there’ll be games when we need to rest Isak but I think there’s also plenty of scope for them playing together. Our system functionally isn’t very far from being a 4-4-2 at times, with the LCM getting very wide and Murphy playing far deeper and having more defensive responsibility than Gordon.

I think you could very much play Isak off Delap, particularly in home games where we’re confident that we’ll be taking the game to our opponent. Two years ago when we had both Wilson and Isak fit and firing the ability to have the two of them on the pitch together was so often game changing for us.

It’s entirely possible that Delap would rather go to another team where he has a clearer path to being the first choice CF, of course. When push comes to shove in the biggest games, Eddie is almost certainly going with Isak leading the line. If not Delap though, I still think a genuinely quality addition at CF is one of the most important additions we can make this summer.

Think you’d probably be looking at Barnes moving on, then basically having Gordon, Isak and Delap rotating in the two positions. Joelinton can play left, Osula seems like he might be better suited to a wide role from what we’ve seen so far and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sanusi in and around the first team squad too. Ideal world we could keep Barnes and having cracking squad depth but he seems a logical PSR sacrifice to allow us to strengthen elsewhere.

God it’s gonna be so nice if we go out and recruit heavily this summer, really excited to see what the squad looks like after the summer.

Whoever we sign to replace Wilson is going to see a lot of minutes assuming that at the very least we get through the Conference League play-off we've already qualified for.

The other selling points will be working with Eddie Howe and his proven track record of making players better and (not to put a dampener on things) the possibility that Isak doesn't sign a new contract and could leave the #1 CF spot open by the start of 2026/27 when he'll only be 23. That's a huge opportunity to be the leading striker for a team with trophy and Champions League aspirations before you turn 24.

As has been proven over the last few seasons, I'dsay it's far more important to have "proven" players in attacking positions than defensice ones.

We don't need to spend £50M on Huijsen, there's will be an alternative for half that price who will suit out squad and do just as well.

You've got to be extremely lucky or get in very early to find a RW or ST who will come in and get the goals and assists you need for much less than £45/50M. That's where the big money needs to go this summer. Dibling isn't the one for that, I doubt he'd even start at first.

Unimpressed with Dibling...bit of a fancy Dan...

I think he’s going to be a killer. I think Liverpool will sign him as Salah’s understudy if he does sign a new deal, flog Elliot to a Fulham or Brentford and have the deal pay for itself.

Reminds me a bit of Waddle with his socks rolled down, doesn’t seem to have the highest work rate times I’ve seen him, but undoubtedly got talent.

I'd be really disappointed if Howe and Mitchel thought giving Spurs big money for Kulu was the answer to our RW problem.

All of his best games are when he plays through the middle.  Spurs fans dont rate him at all as a winger.

And you're right about his form too. Been crap for a while apparently.  Over the last couple of seasons he's had spells where he's one of their best players but then goes through long periods where he does fuck all
