It's the 4 club grown players we are short of. Could we sign Krul, Woodman, Forster or Alnwick to use as our third choice European keeper to fill the club grown quota? Given the current approach to goalkeepers they’ll sign all four.

Alnwick any good these days? He was awful when he was chucked in during our crisis a few years ago. I think the ship may have sailed for Krul and Forster

Could do aye. Surprised it hasn't been rumoured already, probably because we've got a million keepers. Would mean we could name one more outfield player which would be useful. At the moment we're going to have a squad of 22 in Europe (21 non club then players + Longstaff). If Longstaff goes, we'd only be able to name 21 as we'd have no club grown players. Worth noting Miley doesn't need to be named in the squad as he's under 21.

In terms of PSR though, if you sold Gordon for say £80m and replaced with Cunha for £60m or whatever, it'd allow more signings? Similar to how selling ASM for £25m allowed us to go and get Barnes & Livramento.

I know those European rules have been in place for a while but with PSR making it so beneficial to sell our homegrown youngsters it's just such a mess. Being forced the sell the likes of Anderson is frustrating in these circumstances

Or increased our commercial revenue by that much.

He seems in a bracket £20m or so above a group of players who I reckon could come in and do the same job. Not sure we could do it with Bruno, Tonali, Isak for instance. Optimistic Nut
His first full season was on par with Gordon last season, and he's been better than him this year tbf.

Mazzy
Certainly is a plus point for Cunha that we're all even having this argument. He can genuinely play in 3/4 different positions and plays them all very well. I've no doubt he would fit into Howes style of play and you'd think it would allow us to be a even more flexible in attacking areas.

Kanj
Cunha would be mega, man. Absolutely would get even better in our team. A front 3 of Isak, Cunha and Gordon or Barnes is stupidly frightening.

Bunk Moreland
What's Cunha's injury record like? As for any potential discipline issues, I'd back the gaffa, Mad Dog, Bruno and Big Joe (not to mention BDB and Jam) to get him in line if need be. SUPERTOON
Hope was only saying last week our budget as around 60 million. He’s now saying we want to spend more than that on one player
rebelrouser
Not a lot of news about left-footed right wingers and right center backs and the same old stories about keepers.
Keegans Export
I'm not 100% sure on Cunha. Obviously he's a class player but I keep thinking: 1. Why bring in someone like Mitchell if we're just going to end up targeting players anyone on this board could identify as a good player? 2. Why spend a huge chunk of our budget on a player who doesn't actually play very often in the position we need? I appreciate the need for flexibility but surely we'll target a RW who can cover elsewhere rather than sign a #10 and stick him on the right?
