Shak
Ideal scenario for me is we buy a couple of RWs who can offer something different. Mbeumo and Dibling for example. Add those two to the squad with Longstaff and Wilson leaving and that’s a really nice group with a lot of versatility. Mbeumo would primarily be a RW but can also play up front when Isak is out and we still have a really good footballer in the position. Dibling has the benefit of being able to play LCM too when we need something a bit different. The player in that position that we want Willock to be in terms of his ball carrying and getting beyond the striker. Not necessarily those two players, but I mean more the type of players they are. Those two would be lovely, but I don’t know if we can manage it financially. It’s perhaps a little harsh on Murphy as it would knock him down the pecking order quite a bit in theory, but he’d still get plenty of football IMO. KaKa
I think the fact we appear to be interested in signing Delap as a different option upfront, probably means we'll look for someone younger but with some decent first team experience. We've been linked a fair bit with Emegha at Strasbourg and Thierno Barry at Villarreal, who both fit the mould. Someone also shared an Athletic article that interestingly highlighted both players as being comparable to Delap, and had them both as options for clubs that don't land Delap this summer. Genuine question, he’s shown very little to suggest he is good enough. Just the attributes I’ve seen, good technically, big and strong, strikes a ball well, fast. Of course he hasn’t shown that much yet, he hasn’t had a chance. But Wilson is proven to be not good enough and DCL hasn’t been regularly effective in the PL for a long time. Managers prefer experience and who they trust can follow the plan, fair enough. But as a fan I would prefer the young lad to be given a chance. That said, we still need another striker if Wilson goes. And I hope Wilson goes. Edited May 17 by AyeDubbleYoo

Now you’re saying Osula should get more chances? Which one is it ?
MagPar
What about that Japanese chap that bangs in the goals for Celtic? He's a very good player.

You can't be that daft surely- giving Osula the minutes that Wilson has been getting doesn't mean that i think he should be starting games When has he not followed instructions? Do you think the minutes Wilson has gotten would have made much difference? I can’t recall Wilson getting that many tbh, only the odd ten minutes. Not sure that would have made much difference to Osula. Obviously I’m not sure the exact instructions he is given, but he doesn’t offer much when he has played. Quite clumsy on the ball and does give away possession. I think he goes out on loan next season.
St1pe
Thinking about it I don’t think there’s a better move for Delap than us - out of the clubs mentioned. We’ve got a ton of games coming so he’ll play a lot. He can learn from Isak. He’s got Howe coaching who’s improved so many of our first 11. We’ve also got a ton of English players so he’ll be seen a lot by Tuchel. Man u is a dodgy one for him I think because they need so much investment. He’ll have carry a lot of the burden and I think whatever they achieve next year it won’t be deemed good enough. I can actually see him going to Man U but it’s immediate pressure on him to perform and Lord only knows what’s going to happen to that club in the coming months. Wouldn’t be surprised if Amorim gets sacked or walks away 😂

Agreed US and Villa - only 1 striker to compete with, 60-70 games if we do well in cups, good managers, good atmosphere and support from club and fans Man U and Chelsea - toxic, ruin players, weaker strikers to compete with so probably more playing time, but way more pressure, as these 2 clubs SHOULD be at the top based on their finances, churn of players, management, negative press etc I also think at £30m it's an insane opportunity, like Huijsen was. Even if he does average for a CL club for 2 years, you'd easily make a decent profit on him.
Terrymac1966
I have seen Delap trying to cheat the match officials rather than play a great game. His temperament could upset the dressing room so look elsewhere please Mr Mitchell.
Norseman
Isak doesn't have the fitness of a Salah or Messi for instance, where they can play 90 mins every 3 days no problem. We'll need a second striker next season to come on at 60-70 minutes for Isak and start the odd game. Delap could be ideal for that role imo.
