NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Seeing a lot of disappointment about the Thiaw links, with many feeling he’s not quite the level we were hoping to bring in - especially after names like Guehi and Scalvini were floated earlier in the window. Could it be that there’s now more going on behind the scenes with how we’re approaching this window.

The fact we’re now being linked with what looks like a “budget” CB target of ours,  and with Ramsdale on loan, rather than a big keeper signing, this doesn’t look like the behaviour of a club banking on an Isak windfall. If anything, it seems like we might be carefully managing our existing budget without factoring in any major sales.

Could it be that we’re trimming costs in other areas to allow us to go big on a second striker - possibly to support Isak, not replace him?

We have to console ourselves with thoughts of what this window would have been like if we hadnt got champions league football. It’s scarcely believable how badly it’s gone given we did get it

That's basically how things are going to be indefinitely from now. This is the highest water mark we'll probably ever be at.

Just now, Super Duper Branko Strupar said:

Mitro couldnt do it over 3 years and the right side of 30. I'd rather have DCL.

Three years? Loan deal for a season to fill the gaps in our squad. As our transfer business has been poor.

get 3 or 4 of them in on loan. Screw the cartel.

The Saudi’s care far more about keeping good relations with ESL clubs than they do about doing us any favours.

Is he better than Lascelles?

All the deals for potential strikers look really hard to do.

Brentford haven't got a replacement for Wissa

PSG don't really want to sell Ramos

Woltemade probably only wants to join Bayern

I hate the idea of ending up with Jackson and DCL.

I was fine with us targeting high-profile players initially. It isn't what I would have done but I could understand the logic and we were unfortunate to have been out-bid by more established clubs with deeper pockets.

But to be just over 10 days away from the start of the season and still be trying and failing to land these sorts of targets is absolutely appalling imo. I'm sure we'd have loved Delap, Mbeumo, Ekitike, Pedro etc. but the lack of any sort of creativity in our transfer business over the past month or two I just can't get my head around.

I've got no idea who is leading our strategy this summer but, depending on what happens in the next few weeks, they could have put our progress back by years.
