NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

The Targett situation has so much we don't know and I'm sure he only wants to come back with some assurance he'll get to play. Seems a very obvious move to help facilitate playing three at the back. The only explanations are:

1) Three at the back was a total one off so Burn can rotate with Hall (but this also means Burn basically doesn't rest)

2) Eddie thinks he's totally shit and/or their relationship is broken

3) We have another option

Didnt we play 3 at the back V Arsenal at their place in the league last season and it worked despite the score. Not so well V Everton in our last game of the season. Eddie played it a few times while at Bournemouth particularly at Chelsea and got results.

I like it in the right circumstances and may even give a  chance for Nick and Wissa to play together from time to time. Im all for being flexible and less predictable.

Yeah, I just don't see how we could do it with any regularity with 3 fit CBs and one LB (and also one actual RB). Same problem with Nick and Wissa; really need a fit Osula to even consider playing two up top.

By regularity do you mean the next month or so ? It certainly should have a place in our arsenal in general to use, our CHs and Hall are perfect for it

Yeah, thinking very short term. There's a lot of games just to get to Tino being back and that's without losing anyone. And Schar is mostly a lost cause this season. I like the flexibility of that formation, but just struggle to see how we can handle it at the moment.

did you just throw up a random suggestion then completely dismiss it yourself or is he linked somewhere

No. I have Newcastle in my Google search engine and when I clicked on news his name came up from 2 different sources. Neither are reliable though. Also lots of noise about a Barcelona teenager from various online sources.

I don't take it seriously. Until a player officially signs I take no notice of the rumours.

If Tino is not back till like mid March, what games out of following is Hall going to be rested for?

Liverpool A, Man City A, Brentford H, Spurs A, Villa A, Qarabag A, Man City A, Qarabag H, Everton H, Man Utd H, UCL H, Chelsea A, UCL A, Sunderland H (where Tino should be back).

Feels like we have to accept he plays 0 minutes in League Cup / FA Cup, or we are playing a very dangerous game. Hopefully be in a position where he’s not needed at home against Qarabag for more than 55, so he’s fresh as he can be for the run after.

Yep, I really don’t get the transfer strategy we need reinforcements at fullback. Why wait until the summer when the fullback likely pays for itself with the added prize money we get from not ruining Hall.

Targett probably saw what we did to Dubravka. Stitched him up good and proper!

Hall will likely breakdown at some point, hopefully it won’t be too serious, but we are going to run him into the ground.

I see England will be getting a 5th champions league spot again this season. We should’ve come into this window looking to strengthen, consecutive CL qualification would be huge.

Yeah I think we’re probably being nice and not putting him in a position here he plays twice in February and then never again once Tino is back.

But someone else will probably get hurt. We should be less nice.

I don’t think it’s about being nice.  I think Eddie would rather he was not part of the group for reasons.

The lack of loans or short term deals is also down to Eddie’s preference imo.

No reason for a lot of the lads to go away on that trip, keep em fresh and if god forbid we for some reason need them for a home win so be it.

Eddie hates eczema sufferers. That's why he'll never be allowed back.
