Versatile CMs that can play either the 6 or 8. All of these three moved for around 25 million Euros and are plenty good enough players. We are just really not that great in the market often enough tbh. I will never really accept the idea that there's no players to sign out there. Kilcline Posted March 22 Share Posted March 22 There's no point signing a DM unless we are going change the shape of the team to actually get the benefit of having one. Ironically, for me, not only would signing a DM and changing the shape slightly make us way harder to play against, it should also narrow the midfield and make it easier to build up attacks by bringing us closer to the centre forward and making the full backs more of a creative outlet, our assists and chances created from full back this season must be crap. Well, we know how and it’s been done to death but that transfer window was a shambles. Add Elanga to that where we must have scouted him to death and failed to see his obvious limitations or chose to ignore them and we get to where we are now. Someone needs to pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat this summer and at the same time clear out some of the decks. There’s no doubt we’re reaping what we sowed. If I’d been told at the end of last season that Gordon would be the regular centre forward with Osula as first choice back up I simply wouldn’t have believed it. You could hardly make it up. At the same time though, when Bruno and Tonali have played together, for decent spells of this season and last, it's not been an enormous issue. Nothing wrong with having that option I guess. Last season those two lads along with Joelinton were rightfully considered one of the most formidable midfields in the league.
