NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Whoever we go for then technical ability is key. Said this before our 1st season in the CL. It’s the way to evolve. If we don’t improve in this area we will just stand still and not get much further.

Looks like everything we're missing in the current forward line, notwithstanding Gordon's uptick in that position. So positive and powerful; everything you want Woltemade to be but isn't.

Yup. He's being wasted at Chelsea with the way they have played since Maresca and then Rosenior came in.

Like you rightly said, even those clips of his aggression are much needed as it actually fits in with more of what Newcastle was earlier on in Howe's tenure. Just needs to be channelled more effectively into his pressing, like we see with the likes of Joelinton and Gordon.

I'm not convinced we'll go big on a forward, unless we consider Wissa a total write off.

One of them will surely be off if we are to bring in a new one.

And yet there has been none of that in his Chelsea appearances.

Not sure a player could be more unsuited to a team and system, mind.

I’m not saying I think we should sign him. Like plenty of others have said, I’d like to see us targeting more technical players. Plus he would cost a fair bit and want high wages by our standards.

But if Howe wants to continue with this formation. I think he would lead the line really well for us. There would be plenty of chances created for him, crosses coming in, opportunities to run in behind etc.

Playing up top on your own is so difficult and you pay a premium for strikers. If we were to get a player that can press as Howe wants, play back to goal at times and in behind, along with being a reliable scorer and accomplished on the ball. Then what is this mythical striker going to cost?!

A 50m package for a 23 yo English striker with bags of potential in the right side isn’t exactly off putting I don’t think

There's no way we should pay 50 million for him, he's scored 1 goal this season. There's not much evidence he wasn't a one season wonder at this point.

I'd definitely consider delap for lower (and frankly I think we could get him for lower) but can we go into next season with him as our only forward addition? It's a bit of a risk given wolt and wissas performances this season.

Might have been a good thing that we didn’t sign anyone in the January window. If we’re going in a different direction in the summer, best to keep the full transfer kitty

Without Europe we are going to find ourselves in a situation with having a shit ton of money and hard to find players that will come and not pick rival teams in the top 8.

We will have money to even match wages but we wont want to change our wage structure.

In this scenario the likes of Delap, players that have stalled will be our business alongside relying on Wilson and scouts finding gems. I also think in this potential scenario we will absolutely try for bringing Elliot Anderson back, maybe even with returning Elanga if they will take him.

We will want a positive story, whether Eddie stays or not and he is one of the few that would actually consider the return over going to Manure or others. Think we will want him as a marquee signing even at inflated cost.

Who are people willing to sell in the summer?

Livramento, Tonali, and Gordon of the ‘big’ names. In that order of preference. I’d have gotten shot of Botman first, like, but looks like he’s staying regardless.

Wissa, Elanga, Willock, Pope, Woltemade, Barnes, and Murphy can all get in the sea to varying degrees, an’ all.

Ditto on all of those wading into the ocean.

I'd still like to keep all of the big names mentioned, but if they are going, then just get big fees as possible. At least we can cash in while their value is premium.

Genuinely only think there's Bruno, Hall, Miley and possibly Ramsey I'd be desperate to keep after this season.

If the others left I'd vary from indifferent to fucking elated.

You would be desperate to keep Ramsey? He’s midtable through and through IMO. Fine as a squad player but the teams we’re trying to compete with wouldn’t give him a second look.

Bruno, Hall, Miley and Gordon are keep at all cost. Put in Ramsey/Joelinton/Thiaw dont want to lose. The rest can be sold.

Think he's starting to come good and we'll see an even better player next season. Especially if there's a few more players around him who aren't just athletes who can't kick a ball.
