Geordie_once_removed
Pass. They'll want £50 million for reasons and I don't want us to fund their horrible model. Sorry Liam but it was fecking obvious this was going to happen, enjoy the splinters in your arse.

A 50m package for a 23 yo English striker with bags of potential in the right side isn’t exactly off putting I don’t think Edited March 20 by Nine
Lotus
I'm sure they'll want more than that and there will be teams in the Prem who will pay it.
Kilcline
Don't rate Delap at all but I'd be amazed if we weren't in for him if he's available. Hopefully Chelsea try the Man City bullshit of buyback clauses and whatnot and it makes us look elsewhere
Kimbo
I wonder how much more than £50m Brentford would want for Thiago. Not that we’ll be spending anything like that on a striker unless we sell Woltemade.
Jewel
No thanks. He's looked shite everytime I've seen him, and I've never really rated him to begin with. Got to wonder what we are doing if we're willing to drop 50m+ on someone like that. EDIT: Re: Delap ^^ Edited March 20 by Jewel

The sort of player you sign if you want to entrench yourself as a mid-table club.
KaKa
If you take the time to go back and watch the type of goals Delap was scoring at Ipswich you'll get a better idea of how suited he is to an Eddie Howe side. Ipswich got him the ball early, whether that was passes in behind, down the channels or deliveries into the box from out wide. Much like how we serviced and got the best out of Isak. Both Delap and Isak ended up joining clubs that were in a rush to sign players that looked good elsewhere while playing a completely different brand of football, and both have looked lost and suffered for it. They've both been outshone by strikers that are more adept at finding and dropping into spaces and getting more involved in play to then help open teams up, in Ekitike and Joao Pedro. Liverpool and Chelsea do the slower build up thing, passing the ball side to side in that ridiculous horseshoe allowing defences to sit back and close up all the space. If Klopp and Pochettino were still at these respective clubs, playing the more up tempo and direct football they do it would be a very different story. If Delap is available Newcastle should absolutely be looking into a move for him.

SUPERTOON
Would hope having got Wilson in, and having months to plan, we can do better than spending big on Delap.

Chelsea don’t pay the monster wages they used to. Jewel
The names I've been hearing about so far, the likes of Solanke and Delap, doesn't fill me with much excitement or confidence. I really hope we will be more creative than that.
