The narrative on here would have been, we shouldn't be buying Chelsea cast offs, and we shouldn't be giving them money.

Then as soon as they go somewhere else and do well people start fawning over them, and claiming they were highly rated back then and would have been considered good signings.

Chill kaka, we bought hall and it was heralded. Things are a bit more nuanced man.

The worrying thing about that enquiry is that they would never have made one unless they had been given some form of encouragement from Isak or his more likely his agent .

Not true.

Sadly it's how football works now .

They're enquiring with Newcastle because of this PSR thing.

They don't need the players permission to enquire.

If we accept any bid then they can speak to the player to try to convince him then.

Our players attracting attention from other big clubs is a good thing. It means we’re doing something right. Doubt they can afford what we’d want for him anyway, but part of growing this club in these PSR times is undoubtedly selling when player’s value is at their highest. In the case of Isak though, I don’t think we’ve reached that point yet, considering his age and potential.

Agree, they will be casting the net wide at first to see what comes back.

We shouldn't be accepting any bid, they could offer 200 million and it should still be turned down .

It is something we will have to consider every year we don't have success though. Last season's failure to reach Europe will have cost us money, and it's set us back another year as far as keeping hold of our assets. With every one of our prized players we'll have to keep in mind their future value and the prospect of diminishing returns. Not sure what success would look like this season to keep a hold of them. CL or UEFA?

It’s not even really about success sadly, it’s just pure profit and loss and increasing revenue. Look at Leicester they were successful and still fell foul.

It’s just a bullshit system designed to maintain the status quo.

I was explaining why they wouldn't need to get any permission from the player for a simple enquiry.

Why are you talking about accepting bids?!

CL you’d have thought. Our best players will get itchy feet if we cannot show real progress year on year, and I doubt anything but CL will cut it for next season.
