Tino Livramento

Tino is a fantastic 1 v 1 defender and has great strength and recovery pace. Have noticed he has lapses where he seems flat footed when receiving the ball or is late to react to danger. Athletic did a piece on him last season that his greatest strength is aggressive ball carrying to the by-line and then cut backs low to feet or space in the box. Would like to see him get back to that when he's in the team.

Walker should be done with England. Low-key he’s been below par for 6 months.

Of course it was him playing AG on.

Still has his pace but agree his ability on the ball doesn't seem what it was, some marking lapses in concentration, etc.

I think the problem for Livra is, people really under appreciated how good and unique Trippier is/was.

This, big time. It was almost inevitable that whoever succeeded Trippier would be considerably worse at several very important parts of football - and those parts are even more important to the way we in particular have played for nearly three years.

He wasn't just the horse for our course, he was virtually the course designer.

Thought he was decent when he came on against Everton.

Trippier feels like a liability to me now every time he's on the ball or when someone's running at him. Gave the ball away multiple times with simple passes to no one first half.

Also every time that winger attacked him he skinned him easy. Don't remember him beating Tino, in fact I'm pretty sure he swapped to the other wing once Tino came on?

Plus if he doesn't play, we literally have no one with any recovery pace at the back.

In the year we finished 4th I'm sure Trippier has the most key passes and most XA in the league. Without that hub we have nothing apart from bruno trying to pull the strings really. A team that needed technicians already we are/want to phase our main one out.

It was one of the highest in Europe for nigh on two years, never mind our league. They were absurd numbers for a right back, and took the strain for us having nothing like it at RW etc.

He wasnt/isn't really a right back if you look at what he does. Tino is more of a drive at people type player where as we still look for the Trippier out ball (I'm still amazed  he found so much space so regularly and easily)

He’s not the only one. The amount of bad decisions you see in the final third is staggering.

When it's that widespread I can't think it's only down to individual failings.

He's a wingback and need space ahead of him, plopping an orthodox winger in Murphy ahead of him in that space isn't ideal at all.

Perhaps he’s playing with some fear of making mistakes and then thus making them, but he’s clearly a talented kid who on his best day is a lights out 1 v 1 defender and a fantastic ball carrier. Sky is the limit for him but he’s got many many many levels to develop.

But have to say, trippier is our main RB and should be until he hangs it up.

He's still a young kid. He'll get better no doubt but not sure he's quite ready to be our 1st choice RB for an entire season. That's why I could never understand the clamour from some fans to get rid of Trippier for a paltry £10m or whatever it was.

Because we need to make money on players, and Trippier over Tino isn’t going to lift us that greatly, whilst knocking a year off Tino development and missing out on funds.

Position we’re in, you have to play the younger players, accept there will be some down moments, as it’s the longer term gain we’ll get from it.

One of the reasons I wanted to shift on tripper is so we could keep Elliot Anderson and not sign a terrible goalkeeper for 25m
