buzz Posted Wednesday at 19:26 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:26 Incredible goal. He'd have checked back inside and had it blocked a few months ago. Just shows what confidence a run in the team and the cup win has done

The College Dropout Posted Wednesday at 19:33 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:33 I take back everything I said about that summer window. He’s our only attacker I would fancy to take that on his left foot.

TRon Posted Wednesday at 19:34 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:34 How does Gordon get back in ahead of this lad? Genuine question.
Ronaldo Posted Wednesday at 19:36 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:36 To his massive credit I knew that was a goal as soon as Tonali picks him out. He’s crazy clinical.

It was a brilliant touch and finish. No faffing, no false dropping shoulders/steps overs, just one more and bang, Clinical, lovely.
Armchair Pundit Posted Wednesday at 19:39 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:39 Love Barnes' direct style, running at defenders with his sort of finishing scares them sh*tless!
Sempiternal Posted Wednesday at 19:40 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:40 Touch he took receiving the pass was also very good. He plays like a striker, love him
nemtizz Posted Wednesday at 19:40 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:40 Not just a finesse merchant. So good at those low drivens across the keeper. Maybe asking for too much but if we can have the same quality of options on the right we are winning everything.
Vinny Green Balls Posted Wednesday at 19:40 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:40 He is also a fucking graceful runner. Looks like a cheetah in slow motion.

Newcastle Fan Posted Wednesday at 20:44 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:44 (edited) Said it here when he first came on for Gordon that he looks much more capable of producing in the final third than Gordon, never doubted that he's score when he went one on one with their defender. LionOfGosforth Posted Wednesday at 20:45 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:45 This lad is playing so well, chuffed to bits for him. Begs the question...if, and only if, we absolutely had to let a purple go, so we could really kick on with a couple of big signings...is Gordon the one "purple" we could mayyybe let go with how effective Barnes has proven himself to be? The College Dropout Posted Wednesday at 21:00 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:00 I think qualifying for the CL will mean we can invest fairly heavily without selling a purple. Ive said this a lot recently. I think we can win the league. Or at least get 80 something points if we can add a few more purples. We’ve got players like Isak, Bruno and Tonali that should be winning major titles. Let’s add to them.

Look at the options Villa currently have. It should become 'normal' for us to have a Barnes or Gordon waiting to come on, as alien as that sounds

I think we need more Livramentos and Halls to come in instead of our Wilsons and Longstaffs - more £30-40m players, not necessarily the £50m+ starters for big teams. So that when we do get the inevitable injuries, we have the squad depth to cover and maintain the level. I think if we can get 3 decent players at about £25-30m each this summer, across RW/CM/ST we're good in that regard. One big hole in our team imo is our keeper. If the rumours about Kelleher are true, I'd hope we're all over that or at least Trafford. Edited Wednesday at 21:04 by HawK
