Not taking into account minutes played or anything... except for that time Gordon was out and we won a Cup final, and he went on a good scoring run to the p9oint that Gordon struggled getting back in the side. However, the reality is that we're too good to allow that to happen given that "good" Barnes probably isn't quite good enough for the level we want to get to. Then Gordon got sent off and Barnes came in got himself in great form on the left was scoring and assisting, then in comes gordon again. The lad has shown quality. The issue is he’s not a good enough athlete to suceed at our pressing game and doesn’t have the ability to help break a side down in games like today. Eddie bought him as an auxiliary player who’d be on hand to capitalise on final third turnovers, anyway. Barnes has the assist and scoring rate of players like salah but he's not good enough for some. Mbuemo done it for one season and he was 70 mill purchase.
