toontownman
We should know what he brings to the table by now. He is generally! going to be shite but come up with some great moments and goals. We should have shifted and replaced while his stock was higher this summer. I doubt he is here this time next year. Hope he proves me wrong though!
Kid Icarus
Had another one of those matches where nothing he did was going for him, put the graft in though. Bruno and Trippier both weren't far behind in terms of stinking the place out though. Edited September 13, 2025 by Kid Icarus
The College Dropout
Didn’t have the quality when it mattered but put in a shift. Got in some dangerous positions
The College Dropout
He does make good runs
Displayname
Not a starter, needs to come on with fresh legs against tired ones.
Newcastle Fan
He's been playing this season like he has never played before at this level, nothing is coming off for him and he looks physically worse off than last year.
joeyt
Probably our 4th best winget at the moment sadly
GEFAFWISP
This is exactly what to expect of Barnes and sort of has been his entire first team career, he's very hot and cold and if he doesn't contribute to goals he generally looks a bit shite. He'll be fine once he finds the net once or twice.

He really needs to make some impact soon otherwise it’ll just be ten minute cameos and the League Cup

Still he has shown to he a bit of a supersub in the past. Wish his right peg could be amputated and reattached to Gordon though.
Conjo
Think he's more suited for a super-sub role when he can better use his directness and fresh legs against tired legs that Gordon has tormented for 70-80 minutes.

Barnes will be an excellent impact sub and when he needs to start games he has enough ability to be a viable option. He’s just out of form at the moment, he’s better than what he’s currently showing IMO.

Elliottman
He was really poor today mind. Touch, passing, decision making, awareness all off. I really like him and craving for him to to do well but Gordon eases back in at this stage.

CPL
I mentioned in the match thread that he should have taken a leaf from Gordon and milked it a bit more. Will be interesting to see what VAR has to say about that challenge.

Our former manager Chris Hughton didnt think that was a penalty.. maybe Barnes need to act more, hold his face screaming or whatever for those to be given.. hate that about the game today

TRon
It might help if we get to see Hall starting more at left back rather than Livramento who has done a grand job, but a genuine left footed LB would give us the width and allow Barnes to do what he does best, which is cut inside and get in the box. Shadow Puppets
I thought he had a decent enough game. Some good, some not so. That chance in the second half would have been some goal. Also, his wife gave birth to their second baby less than 48 hours ago, and he likely wouldn’t have started this game had Gordon been available. So there are some mitigating factors. Myleftboot
Always going to be second fiddle to Gordon.
Lush Vlad
Jesus fuck. Just seen the foul on him that should have been a red. Even more egregious than the Konate one. Shouldn’t need VAR to re-referee the game there. It was blatant in real time and the ref was right there.
