He literally put a chance on a plate for Gordon ffs

Did it look like he was giving the makeshift defender much trouble? Szosoblai was winning virtually every tussle. The other two forwards were at least pulling their defenders all over the place. Sorry like, but a solitary good cross is not enough.

He's a good athletic combative midfielder like. Just cus he's not a right back, doesn't automatically mean Barnes will get the better of him 1v1. Especially as that's not his best asset really either rits cutting in and shooting.

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets hooked for Ramsey at half time however now we are down to ten.

Literally created our best chance.

i must have overlooked that. Tbf his decision making is usually sound and obviously he has great shooting ability, though we can probably all agree he is very predictable and rarely really trouble the fullback, even a makeshift one that is tonight

Quiet game. Unlucky not to get an assist and has been making clever runs to create space. Weird that he seems a bit slower than usual, though. Szob is an athlete and not a RB. But didn’t even try and run him once?!

He knows he's not quick enough to get by him. I thought it was crazy playing a midfielder at FB but tbf Slot seems to have called it right. Barnes is turgid slow. He's a one trick pony, and if you can block the inside channel it limits him severely.

This is Harvey Barnes, he'll have games where he either looks like he can't do the basics and nothing comes off or he'll decide to show up and score a belter after a shoulder drop, cut inside jobby, hopefully he finds form sharpish though.

We looked miles better when he came off. He's a very limited winger who is very good at what he does if that makes sense.

100%. This isn’t a new thing, above all else you want technical ability, pace and unpredictability from a winger. He scores too low in those 3 areas to ever be what we need. Happy to have him as a sub.

He just can’t do it 1 v 1 in the slightest. That’s not his game. His game is having space to run into to attack where he can cut in and shoot. If he gets square with a defender he can only pass it backwards or lose it, or only rare occasions eke out a cross. If he can’t run and attack from deep and then cut in his game is very limited. Thankfully, his striking of the ball is so good that the limitation is massively mitigated. However, I much prefer wingers who can actually beat their man on the wing or if they get squared up, have the quality to beat them by coming inside

He is never good at dribbling and beating opponents. He isn’t playing bad, he is just what he is

It’s remarkable how successful he is, when everyone knows that he’s almost exclusively a give-and-go winger. But he’s very smart positionally and times his runs very well.

I thought he played ok. Out of curiosity, early in the second half he went through and was bundled to the ground. The crowd went nuts and from a distance it looked like a clear foul. Was it?

two hand shove to the back should have been second yellow to Konate
