ToonAbroad
I actually find it somewhat positive too that one of the criteria was to be named in 30 Matchday squads. If Eddie didnt fancy him then it would have been very easy for him to avoid that milestone. Gonna be class in a couple of years with more coaching and experience. gbandit
He’s an extremely good footballer on the ball. Whatever role he ends up playing, that will come through

gbandit
That sounds like a very odd criteria. What happens if he gets an injury? Doesn’t really marry up with a very loose criteria or finishing 14th or above

The criteria for Hall's transfer from the Blues to Newcastle was for Eddie Howe's side to finish 14th or higher and for the 19-year-old to be named in 30 or more squads, with United and Hall now achieving both of those milestones. And Hall, who recovered from a muscle injury to come on as substitute in the 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, is now looking ahead to the next stage of his career." Groundhog63
Fwiw I think he's really decent.... Blah blah blah blah. Plus I fucking loved all the crack, when he signed on loan, about his families love for NUFC.

Assuming that's true, you're right, it is interesting that Howe kept putting him in the squad. Makes not giving him more runs out on the left wing to rest Gordon or others during the depths of our winter injury crisis more mysterious, mind. Can't help but think he would've been handy at moments.

Almost like, he knew he wasn't going to use him, but still wanted him in those squads to help hit the criteria perhaps.

We came close to losing Gordon to injury a couple of times, which would've been a major predicament. And the main - fair - accusation with Hall is that he lacks defensive nous, not that he doesn't know how to run and put a cross in.
