I really hope you guys thrash the bin dippers this Sunday, however the denial in some posters on here, City had Stones, Dias, B Silva, KDB all out, we also played in sweltering Greece in a midweek cup final and we still controlled this game and you didn’t lay a glove on us.

Can I say you’re game this Sunday is a big game for Eddie Howe without people getting on my back, for me he can’t afford another defeat against Liverpool like last season, when they schooled you at SJP.

Eddie has earned a lot of trust and regard from our supporters for the way he has handled the job. He took a team that looked like it was going to be relegated with about 20 points, out of the danger zone, up to mid-table, and then took the team to the Champions League, all within 20 months. We recruited well but in general not from the top end of the market, and it all represents a massive over-achievement on the resources available to him.

The idea that getting defeated by Liverpool would trigger some sort of crisis for him is utter rubbish.

Why pressure on Howe? You won’t find anyone who actually supports our club saying that? Thought you were alright when you first popped up, beginning to look like a troll now.

Not trolling mate, just saying the pressure is on Howe to get something from this fixture and everyone on here has either called me a troll, fuck off, let’s talk about how corrupt City is etc

No more so than had we won at your place.

You obviously didn't watch the game otherwise you would have known that Dias played

So….let’s discuss your bent and financially corrupt club…

So defensive, all because I have the gall to say there is pressure on Howe in his next game.

We have discussed City to death on here, we just have to wait until the outcome now.

I think maineblue's characterisation of the game is largely correct. They were down some big players, they didn't use (or have to use) any subs. No meaningful shots on goal.

It felt a little bit like when Man Utd got beat 2-0 in the Champions League final by Barcelona where it was artificially close.

But there's no pressure on Howe, or no imperative to get a result against Liverpool. That's just complete nonsense from a Citeh fan hoping we can make a more prominent title rival in Liverpool stumble  We've gone from relegation zone to Champions League.

The hope, according to most of the fanbase, was that we went there expecting the team to perform and perhaps scrape a result. The reality... is that Man City put a stranglehold on us from the first minute and we just could not escape it.

They were far superior in nearly everything and their technical ability was unbelievable, they passed around our attempts at a press and used it very well in quick counters.

Surprisingly, most of their good chances were long precision balls from Ederson over the top... oh, and of course Foden's masterclass.

We are a work in progress and tbh we kept it quite tight and they didn't spank us which is about what we all really expected/wanted... It won't be too long before we really compete, patience and trust is necessary.

If you're brave enough to share an unpopular or controversial opinion on here and you support a rival club, you'll get called a troll by a select few even if you're being genuine.

That being said, there's ways to talk to rival fans, especially on their own turf. It took me about ten years to master.

From a relatively neutral perspective though, there is zero pressure on Howe against Liverpool. Newcastle fans are level headed for the most part and understand they are miles ahead in their project. Losing to Liverpool home or away isn't the end of the world for pretty much any club except City.

Does it feel weird knowing you're not the main antagonizer in this exchange?

I never am to be fair, I just bite back and get accused of it.

It's funny seeing another fan get torn apart for sharing what is probably a genuine opinion though. That's usually me.

Sorry I meant to say Ake

Ake was available, wasn't he? Guardiola chose to bench him because he had better options for that game.. Man City has that luxury.
