Lloyd Kelly

I wonder if there's any mileage in playing him alongside Burn as a pair? Schar's been making a lot of mistakes in recent games, including some howlers against Brentford. I think we'll stick with Howe against Leicester but he must be on pretty thin ice by now.

Did you watch the West Ham game?

Yeah it was embarrassing, but Schar's performance was equally so last week. He's having too many lapses of concentration of late, it will come down to whether Howe believes there's any excuse for it. Kelly went missing for the Soucek goal but it doesn't define him as a defender. Or at least I hope it doesn't otherwise we should never have signed him.

Will find out once Schar gets booked again.

He's our player, we signed him for just such emergencies.

It might not be his preferred side, but if Dan. Burn and Krafth can switch from full back to centre half and back, then I think Kelly can manage playing as a right sided CB.

I'm backing big Lloyd to come good against Spurs with a MOTM performance.

needs a run of games with a regular partner before we can judge.

CB is a really hard position to just come into for a game here and here, and perform.

was poor against west ham, mind.

Hard to see him getting much playing time for the first team now, but I think we have signed him as an asset, same way Chelsea probably signed Tosin. If Kelly does get sick of no game time, he should still fetch a decent fee as he's only 25. Pretty sure there would be takers as I reckon he's not half bad when he gets a run of games behind him.

But on his wages? He’s likely on a top deal that no other club will want to take on and for the length, so it would come down to if he wants to push a permanent move for less wages and remain in Prem whilst he has a reputation still.

Or it’s multiple loans, us subsidising wages for many seasons in hope someone finally buys him.

Can’t be trusted RCB, he’s 3rd in line at LCB, we will sign another CB, so he’s basicallly Hall back up. Which if Hall stays injury free and starts 95% of games, I think that’s fine. But he’s not a CB option for me long term.

Burn won’t last beyond next season so I think Kelly will Sven’s backup by then. Unless one of the bairns make huuuuge strides.

Burn is a far better defender than Kelly at CB - not been impressed by Kelly at all.  Burn has been a colossus for us this season.

This very much feels like one of those threads where at the moment people are in here spouting their opinions and are going to have to back track in the future.

Like with Tonali, Livramento, Lewis Hall, Gordon etc?

 Exactly.

Eddie’s track record is great when it comes to developing players. It’s like people would’ve learned that by now instead of saying dumb shit like they know anything.

Thank you friend.  You say it better than me.  I just launch loads of profanities at these so called fans.

That was my heavily censored and redacted post. The first draft was rough on some people.
