As season has gone on, it’s been made clear to me that Howe sees him as a winger anyway, so we will sign a ST. Then it’s Osula / New RW, with Murphy eventually a back up RB / RWB as the squad evolves.

Yeah, I could see a positional switch a la Joelinton.

I agree - I don’t think the lad is useless or owt, just think he’s currently a fair way short

He was never signed to be a backup to Isak, he was signed to (in the short term) take a few minutes away from Wilson and maybe fill in wide roles as well. Sadly Wilson has been perma-crocked as usual.

 

There's surely no world in which we intend Osula to be second choice next season, but I also think he will be a great asset to the squad overall.

Aye -  can play 2 positions - defo worth keeping around - there will be a time when he will be called upon as Isak plus 1 are going to be either injured or need of a break - I have flashbacks to Bournemouth away 2 years ago when we were on our knees

dont think anyone is saying that.

we need a back up striker to isak no doubt but this kid would be a valuable squad member.

he's played in the champo already.

he's looked canny in a sub role for us.

Said previously he could do right wing as opposed to striker , but yeah could step in as needed.

And? If he's needed I think he'd do a good job up top. 

We more than likely sign a back up striker anyway like mbuemo but I wouldn't be up in arms if he had to start for a few games.
