Anthony Elanga: NUFC have bid of £45m rejected (Ornstein)

Recommended Posts

I would much rather spend 60m on Kudus than 50m on Elanga. Every day of the week!  (As an example). Much more talent.

Think he offers a lot more as well as being the better option in front of Tino.

I’d be pretty down on Elanga if he was mainly one-footed but he’s two-footed and there are very few wingers that are as good as him off both feet with crossing and shooting. Don’t think people are crediting the value in that highly enough

How much of an upgrade is Elanga over Murphy? Or is it a case of another player competing for that right wing position?

Unless Murphy gets hurt or slows down, Elanga would be his backup and you know that is how Howe will play him.

We want someone who can play really wide but also cut in and also press aggressively and also track back and also be fast and also have top level experience and also have end product and also be positionally versatile and also have a good attitude and also be 24 or under and also not be on massive wages.

Not many players fit those criteria; Elanga does. I’m confused as to why people don’t think he’d be a massive success here.

I’d love him here.

PL Premium for more run fast, press hard, work rate.

Underwhelming if this is what we're aiming for.

Amazing how many games those simple principles win you with a solid defence and great striker…

Just switch target. I don’t want another 2 months saga like Guehi.

Yea, this stinks of Guehi 2.0 £45m is already the top end, straight out rejected, let’s move on. Played our cards and now leave it.

It depends. Eyes can deceive sometimes. I’m sure many on here or in fanbase in general fawn over Ginola rather than Robert as easier on the eye.

However I’d have Robert over Ginola everyday of the week and I think his figures would back that up.

I’d have Hatem over both of them.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but Kudus was hugely underwhelming last season. What gives you such confidence in him? I think 60m for him would be a huge gamble.

Not the Ginola from his first game until the Arsenal league cup game, after that I agree 100%

I think he is extremely talented as well as dynamic. He offers a lot in general play and has really good technical ability. His ceiling is extra high imo.

Last season he went a bit stale overall but still very very good in some games. One major factor might be that he changed positions every now and then, as well as West Ham not really evolving/functioning properly as a team with a lot of negativity surrounding the club.

I think with a new challenge and under Howe, in a settled/consistent environment he would find his best form and start firing on all cylinders again.
