Expand I agree with them that Gordon knows what he's doing when he plays it past the goalkeeper, but that doesn't change the rules. They later started talking about consistency in refereeing. Not giving that pen would me the most inconsistent thing you would ever see. He got to the ball first, meaning Ederson was late. Saying the VAR should have at least asked the ref to have another look, but VAR is only suppoosed to step in for a 'clear and obvious error', which that wasn't. Still thinking we could have won that if we'd just had a bit of extra quality in a few positions. Expand Against City I never expect anything from the refs or VAR. When Joelinton went down without the refs intervention, I just knew it wouldn't be given, just because it's Man City. Against a bottom half side I would have hope, and no doubt they would spend atleast a minute looking at it. And I agree, I was really surprise when we were given the first pen.
