Newcastle United vs. Brentford - 18/12/24 @ 1945 [LC QF] (Live on Sky Sports+)

Just don't show Wissa and Mbuemo inside on their stronger foot for free shots or let a long kick from the keeper bounce into our penalty area for a free shot and we'll be fine [emoji38]

Imagine Howe may rotate out Tonali for Miley. Put Bruno back at 6. He only just gave him 90 mins for the first time I can remember at the weekend, doubt he (or more importantly) the medical team, reckon he can pull off three starts in the space of a week.

Miley played for the U21’s last night so doubt he starts tomorrow.

That team is so bad and yet 3 players that started still remain as key squad members. I’m happy that a night like that one is not in the forefront of my memory these days

Four and I would argue they're the players most managers would keep.

Longstaff
Almiron
Murphy
Wilson

Those are fine squad players within our PSR limitations and given where we've come from 4 years ago. Two of them will be gone after this season and I agree with you, at least we don't have the eyesore that was Bruceball to deal with. :icon_puke_l:

Really no need to rotate Tonali. Got some rest against Brentford.

Also, in the grand scheme of things.  Tomorrow is much more important than Ipswich.  Play your strongest team.

Would also be odd to give Miley his first start and meaningful minutes in a long while, in a cup quarter final.

You would like to think we learned quite a lot from the league defeat, although even before that, they were clearly their biggest threat. But lightning doesn't strike twice, and tbf they both hit a couple of screamers.

Be interesting to see if they rotate at all. Appreciate it’s just as big a game for them as it is us, but playing on Sunday night really doesn’t give them much turnaround time as they’ll probably be travelling up this afternoon.

Their manager was on earlier confirming they are playing a very strong team. No hints of much rotation.

Hope they’re all fatigued to fuck then! 😂

The Chelsea game was like basketball at times. So fingers crossed.

We were more than in the game against them first 55 minutes or whatever it was the other week. If we could just avoid gifting them 3 goals again. We might be alright tomorrow.
