Newcastle United Vs. Bromley FC - 12/01/25 @ 15:00 - Live on BBC iPlayer

Wonder if Bromley fans would rather play us home or away? The draw we got gives them a huge payoff but they'll probably lose and that'll be that. Had they been drawn at home against us then they'd make less money but would have a much better chance of taking the scalp. Not sure what they'd prefer

They’re actually entitled to more away tickets at SJP than the capacity of their home ground…

Bit more of a travel like.

Hard to speak for them, but first year in the Football League and first time in the third round, you'd think they'd be delighted with the day trip & night out up here, the financial boost and not too concerned that they can concentrate on retaining that league status afterwards unless they pull off the dream upset.

They should stay up IMO, Michael Cheek was a consistent Conference goal getter and he's continued that well in League 2.

Well, yeah, there you go. No doubt they'll make a weekend of it and good on them, it's what the Third Round is all about

Cartel clubs easy draws etc. Newcastle always get hard draws etc. etc.

Give me 3 months and I will conveniently have forgotten about this draw, while complaining about a future one.

Spoiler

If we beat Bromley, that is

I love big cup ties.

I'd much rather play Arsenal than Bromley, but then we've won the cup 13 times so that could be something to do with it.

If it was at Harrogate I think that's possible but I'm not so sure.

It’s a massive local derby. As soon as you head out of Harrogate, you enter Leeds suburbs. It would be like Newcastle United being drawn against Blyth.

A great draw for the mackems as they don't have to paint the black cats bar a different colour this season.

Will they give them loads of free beer though ?

Loved that draw for us but for Salford, Harrogate and especially for the Accrington Stanley fans  - the magic!

They'll beat you. Personally prefer playing teams we've never played before rather than a team from the same league we'll play at least 2 other times during the season.
