Agreed.  The way I see it over 90 minutes we deserved the win.  We had by far the better missed chances.

Given that it was 1-2 at half time they were a little unlucky not to get a draw.  They had the ball across the box and the header, good half chances.  But we probably had the best chance for Barnes.

And Gordon's over the bar...

Pure twitter trolling from a registered account.

Are PaddyPower socials ran by Geordies? They always seem to kinda sway on the side of our fans either sarcastically or ironically.

Paddy Power would be funnier if they knew the rules of the sport they were lampooning like.

Joelinton's arm is by his side, it's not handball and never has been under any iteration of the rules (other than if he's scored himself - where 'accidental' doesn't come into play).

The Dan Burn one was 50/50, it would have been a soft double yellow, he also didn't mean to handle it, but his arms are outstretched to comical levels and he really couldn't have complained if he walked.

We've played them 3 times in the last year, and each game has basically played out in the same way, they dominate the territory and possession, but do fuck all with it, we counter well and end up having more clear cut chances:

Today (We're green for some reason)

The 2-1 Win in September:

The 4-0 win last April:

There is a very obvious way to play against them, and even if it can feel nervous watching at times, its fruitful.

I’ve watched the Joelinton handball a few more times and I get why it would frustrate the Spurs fans.  We got a very clear advantage from it, I’d be pissed off about it.  The rules are the rules though.  I think they were right to change them so accidental handball in the lead up does not automatically mean no goal.  When this was the rule there were a load of really soft goals not given.

You could argue for the rules to be tweaked to say that an accidental handball that gives a clear advantage to a team leading to a goal should be disallowed.  I think the guy in the studio nailed it though when he said at least the rules are now clear and not open to interpretation.

I don't have an issue with their fans being unhappy about that tbh, I have more of an issue that they disregard or don't even consider the Gordon collision though when that was equally as controversial. When you think of that one and the Van Dijk one that should have been, the latter was even worse as it was deliberate and dangerous.

Also Spurs had like 16 minutes added on today - so what's all this time wasting nonsense  they got 106 minutes.

Yeah, you would be pissed off as the defending team, but if Joelinton was defending in our box and Bergvall smashed it off his arm from a yard, should it be a pen? Of course not.

It’s just the luck of the situation, and we’ve benefited today.

Yeah, both looked like accidental things that occurred on a pitch.  Should a goal be disallowed?  No.  Should we get a penalty?  No.

Agreed.  They got their injury time and It’s not like Gordon was faking his broken nose!
