Should we change it mid-game to suit you, Ange?! I was thinking this during the game. McCoist was saying it’d be disallowed and I was wondering what happened to the rule that says it’s only handball if the goalscorer was the one who handballs it. So while he was crying it shouldn’t count, he should brush up on the rules if he’s gonna commentate on football.

M4 Posted Saturday at 17:02 Share Posted Saturday at 17:02 The goal should definitely stand. It ticks all the law, and common sense boxes: Unintentional, arm and hand in natural position, ball kick into him. Also, from reading the above I find it stupid that it should matter who scores from it. As it states that if it had been Joe, of course handball and of course disallowed. Either it's hand ball or not. And outcome shouldn't change that. At least we've moved away from the simple, PSG-like, contact equals foul horror. Said exactly than on Bluesky and as much as I generally enjoy Ally on co-comms he and his fellow ex-pros are the worst for not knowing the rules. It infuriates me given that they’re paid to comment on the game, ffs spend a bit of time doing some research, it’s literally what you’re paid to do. They were so good that they were 2-1 down at half time, were booed off and still didn't score a goal in the second half, which an "outstanding" side shouldn't find difficult. MagPar Posted Saturday at 17:06 Share Posted Saturday at 17:06 (edited) Another great result. My managerless Scottish team won 4-1 away from home to a play-off chasing team too. Am I happy though? No. F*ck you depression. Edited Saturday at 17:07 by MagPar Missed word

Agree, you should be able to score after an accidental handball. Guess it does make the decision easier and less controversial though.

Keggy_Keagal Posted Saturday at 17:07 Share Posted Saturday at 17:07 Ange is a prick. Defending his "principles" when he's beaten and then crying about the referee when Madley did everything but punch the ball in the net for Spurs. We were good today I thought Spurs had a real go second half and much like the Manchester United game we were happy to concede possession and see out the the 1-2 lead. The ref though was appalling. As a club we never seem to exert the pressure other clubs do on referees but he shouldn't be on a Newcastle game again. Every 50/50 decision went Spurs way,the foul on Gordon for a penalty (why was this not looked at in more detail ?, someone else mentioned it was similar to the Van Dijk foul and at the time I couldn't believe that wasn't given). The knee to Dubravka's head, there was a blatant foul on Joelinton early second half that led to Spurs nearly scoring, that wasn't even remarked on. Then I learn the ref's the same as the Liverpool 3-3 game, after which I said felt cheated by his performance. I was convinced we were going to get fucked over and denied the three points. Everything he could do to influence the game in favour of the opposition he did as the game developed. Other teams like a Manchester United under Fergie or Klopp's Liverpool would make sure he couldn't referee them again he made David Coote look competent and impartial. Really proud of the team, a real top level performance of grit skill and determination. Howay The Lads !!!

AyeDubbleYoo Posted Saturday at 17:12 Share Posted Saturday at 17:12 (edited) TBF to McCoist I think he was saying that he thought the officials would disallow it even though it shouldn’t be disallowed. Not sure why he thought that mind. Guess just general lack of faith in the officials. Edited Saturday at 17:12 by AyeDubbleYoo
