Newcastle United (4) 2-0 (0) Arsenal - 05/02/2025

Recommended Posts

All the talk was about Arsenal making a comeback, Arsenal getting an early goal to unsettle us, the crowd being too nervous, their players saying they were going to score 5 goals past us like we were some kids in a park.

No one, absolutely no one is talking about how good we are when we are on it.

For as much as the likes of Arsenal on their day can beat us, we on our good day can beat them, and I’m telling you now, if we play like we have in these semi-finals, in the final, then we’ll win it, and I don’t care who we get. Us on our day, we can beat anyone.

One game to go!

Played and beat the teams in second, third and fourth in the league so far and probably the team in first to come next - quite a crazy set of teams to have to beat in a cup competition. Have to win it the hard way….

Think were better in these sorts of tactical games and the onus off us and on the other team. Fans okay with letting the other team have it etc.

Were excellent at that stuff. Proper old school Milan-esque.

Brilliant stuff. Do we stick with that system going forward? Thought we had a really good balance throughout and far more control than usual.

Was just saying. Having players who are so good on the ball like Trips and Hall, and having wingers like Gordon and Murphy who who are up and down gives us so many options. We didnt look deficient anywhere.

Sat here feeling a bit melancholy. Whilst also buzzing inside.

My Dad died two weeks ago today and he was a Gooner. I would have been enjoying some light piss taking with him now.

Still got a whatsapp from him that made me smile at the time over how aggro it was

This was after an hour in the first leg:

“Not watching. Tie is done. Good luck in the final 👍️x”

It will genuinely be so interesting to see what this team has learnt from the last final, and how they've developed and handle the occasion.

Bloody hell.
