No rightbacks (?), no konate, and vvd spoken to by psg last night so his head won't be in it - surely we get a result?

What?

There’s really nothing to be scared of, Liverpool are human, Plymouth beat them. There’s going to be 40,000 Geordies there right behind the team. Millions more worldwide willing them on. Don’t worry, be brave, seize the day! We want it more than them! Go and take it, become legends!

Last couple days went almost as well as they could have (barring a more emphatic win for us).

That will be a massively deflating loss for them last night. Salah/VVD will be pissed about it maybe being their last chance to win CL. Couple of injuries too.

Meanwhile we've had a victory, Isak and our midfield trio seem fit.

I do worry our left side is a real weakness. Wasn't at all impressed by Tino or Barnes at West Ham and we have no balance. They are both unfortunately very one footed. Murphy isn't great but at least can be a handful on the right, and is right-footed.

we seem a bit more focused this time. fans and players.

think it was far too emotional in the build up last time - just felt like we were grateful just be in the final.

Whilst the scenes of thousands arriving at Kings Cross and Trafalgar Square were pretty cool last time, it all felt a bit like a big weekend away (which it was).

I'm not against that, but we need to focus on the football and support the team, not the occasion.

The atmosphere at the last final in our end was nothing special. I was in Club Wembley but walked straight into the toon end and sat there the whole game. It was amazing how many people turned up late!

Still think we'll start Wllock over Barnes in this.

Would be a massive mistake. And I never wanted us to sign Barnes to begin with. Wrong choice to buy him imo.

Can definitely see Gakpo doing something though.

Looked nowhere near fit last night I didn't think.  So hoping that is the case, as he has been good for them this season.

Guesswork, but think Howe will go back to the tried and tested left hand side, with Barnes able to provide impact from the bench.

Id rather see us having our only natural finisher (after Isak) from the start, even if he brings next to nothing to our team in general play. To stand a chance in this final we need to be clinical as well as avoiding stupid mistakes. Do that and we have a chance. Willock doesn’t improve our lack of quality overall in possession so might as well play Barnes.

I'd start Barnes all day. He just has such a higher chance of changing the game compared to Willock. The only negative is that he's canny rusty but he's always got a goal and ar least an assist in him.

Willock can either be class or utter dogshit, rarely Inbetween [emoji38]

Not so sure.  To use TCD's 'BOTH BOXES' x 4 line of thinking.  We need someone that is going to deliver in key moments if the opportunity presents itself.

Barnes was basically our sole threat in the first half against West Ham.  Very unlucky not to score and had 3 shots, 2 on target.

The Willock from two seasons ago, I think it's a no brainer.  I was saying I thought Howe would go with the Big Joe/Little Joe combo, but not so sure now and I don't think I'd want us to.  As I don't think the current version makes it worth while losing that output at the business end of the pitch.

I'd imagine chances are going to be few and far between, we might rely on long shots or just a half chance coming off a ball breaking our way.  Barnes being on the pitch greatly increases our chance of scoring, I would say.

Barnes would also be slightly more useful than Willock defending corners, which are likely to be a big Liverpool threat. They were against PSG. They also won that dour final last year with a header from a corner in extra time.

(Class feet by ASM for chance at 0-0, would've been such a good goal)

Those flags being waved at 90 mins man. I was in the stadium and it was incredible. We wanted it so so much more than them.

Mental to think this time next week we'll have our first trophy in over 60 years.

Pressure is already on Howe to deliver next year.

I doubt this goes to pens but if it does who do you lot think takes them?

Only player I feel comfortable taking pens is isak. Maybe Bruno as well if he wasn't having such a weird season. Id have added Gordon to at list also but he's suspended

Longstaff was ice cold when he bagged the final penalty at Forest earlier in the competition
