Newcastle United Vs. Nottingham Forest - 23/02/25 @ 14:00 (Live on Sky)

Recommended Posts

Their style feels like our worst nightmare. Low block, usually defensively solid, rapid on the counter, number 10 who find space, clinical when they get chances.

We need the recent version of them away from home to turn up and not to leave Hall, Burn, Schar exposed to 1v1's with the likes of Elanga and Hudson-Odoi.

Yeah I can't see us winning this one.

Their style also suits us tbh. We struggle more against teams who use our tactics and press our players into making mistakes when we are trying to pass out. If they sit back at least we should be able to play in their half. Then it's up to us to get the right players in covering areas in case we lose the ball.

Feels like a pivot point between the top 5/6 and the rest TBH, especially if Bournemouth do lose. Would be a massive three points.

We have to get 3 points tomorrow with us at Anfield on Wednesday. Want to see a reaction after saturdays shit show.

Really itching for this to come round. Need to get that car crash of a performance against City out of the system.

We're still staring into the wreckage of the Bournemouth and Fulham pile up, never mind man city

This is looking like quite a big game now. Win and we're back above Bournemouth and three points off third.

Lose and it's nine, with a trip to Anfield on Wednesday.

Results have gone our way, it's a massive opportunity to put ourselves back in the driving seat for CL football.

Just feel like they will kill us with their pace. Can see a similar score line to the Bournemouth game.

That’s the spirit!

Shipping four goals again? If so major questions will raise again re Howe and the players.

They've been pretty poor away from home of late.

That said if we go for the man to man press again, the target man/quick wingers combo will hurt us.

I think it'll be pretty cagey, neither team will want to lose.

No chance mate, the worst result we’ll get will be a draw but I’m confident we’ll win

We play Forest and Chelsea at home in the league. Wins in those are the best chance of overhauling one or more of the current top 5. I've never really thought we would catch City, but these are the 2 that could falter. And we need to get the points.
