Might sound negative but I'd rather play our earlier round cup 11s tonight and go as strong as possible on Sunday against Brighton

We aren't winning either way tonight

It does sound negative when you phrase it like that, but the general idea is right. I would not risk any player who is not 100% and maybe go with the cup semi final formation we had against Arsenal.

We aren't likely to get a result anyway, I was reading today that Howe's record against Liverpool in his managerial career is 20 played and 17 lost of those. Can't really blame him, not easy to go toe to toe with them when you have worse players, and he would have done that at Bournemouth as well. But it doesn't work most of the time, and with our creaking CBs can't see it working this time round either.

One positive for this is our left hand side is really strong when everyone is on it. Tonali back in should give us a bit more balance on the right too. If we can cause TAA problems and try and flood their right hand side like we did against Forest in the first half, we can stunt their progress. Interested to see what Slot goes for on the left hand side to help out, I'd imagine Gakpo if he's properly back, but there's been Diaz, Gakpo, Jota and Jones filling 2 positions of late. Diaz, Gakpo, Salah and Szob would be their strongest 4 I'd say.

I think any team finds it hard if you can sit back and park the bus, just don't think we are set up that way, and our players would struggle to implement it effectively. We always seem to get stuck in no man's land, neither defending well or attacking.

Yeah not suggesting it's the way to go for us, whatever tactic we choose it's obviously going to be a super tough game, that said we are 6/1 with the bookies to win not 60/1 :) We are good enough to beat anyone if we play to our best and things go our way, let's see what happens.

Not many players in the world are "top top World Class". Salah is definitely one of them.

Szoboszlai and Gravenberch are easily two of the best midfielders in the league though.

Sure but if you think of all the title winning teams they've usually had at least one midfielder at that level right? None of Liverpool's midfielders are, Gravenberch wasn't deemed good enough to get in Bayern's team, or Klopp's Liverpool team. Everything is going pretty much perfectly for them this season, time will tell if Gravenberch can reach the levels required to be constantly winning trophies at the very top and be a mainstay in the team.

I can only think of Rodri  Liverpool didn't have a world class midfielder in 2019/20 either.
