Sibierski
For ones not high on Gordon, who at LW in rest of league would you take over him?

Luis Diaz, Son, Gakpo, Martinelli, Trossard at present without thinking too hard about it. Doesn't mean Gordon is a bad player; he's clearly a good one, and he would be difficult to replace. But I'm not seeing what you're seeing re him being a potentially world-class one.

Lush Vlad
Martinelli and Trossard over Gordon? Nah. Son is seriously on the decline and all. Although I bet his numbers still match up favourably.

gbandit
Of those names I’d only take Diaz as a definite and only Gakpo as a maybe

Plays in a team that create loads more, has Saka taking on doubles on the other side every week, has Odegaard behind him. Yet his numbers are nothing special bar one season (I think). Arsenal fans I know find him hugely frustrating. Whenever I watch him he flatters to deceive and doesn’t use his pace as well as he could. Which is actually a gripe I have with Gordon sometimes TBF. There is a reason that Arsenal create more, in fairness. They have better players - and I'll chuck Martinelli into that list. Gordon has Hall behind him, Isak next to him, and has Tonali and Bruno in midfield supplying him - he's got perfectly capable player around him. Dr.Spaceman
2 hours ago, Sibierski said: For ones not high on Gordon, who at LW in rest of league would you take over him? Diaz, Gakpo & Semenyo off the top of my head. Marmoush will likely be there too by the end of the season if he keeps scoring against shite sides. He’s a forward player in a better team, that dominate the ball and create more chances than us. Plus the likes of Odegaard who finds space in a phone box with his passing. Yet his numbers in the last couple of seasons aren’t any better than Gordon’s, are they? That’s with Gordon having a bit of an off-season in comparison to last year. I’m not even a massive Gordon fan, TBH. I don’t know what it is about his game that annoys me. But he can be a bit wasteful with his decision making. That said. I’m just absolutely not having Martinelli or Trossard ahead of him, though. Especially when the former is just as guilty of it as Gordon, if not worse. greenhill
2 hours ago, Sibierski said: For ones not high on Gordon, who at LW in rest of league would you take over him? Maybe a bit off topic but the LWs in the Premier League seems quite poor especially when the league has so many talents at other positions. Anyone of Vini Jr, Mbappe, Nico Williams, Raphinha (who plays at LW this season), Rodrygo (who can definitely play at LW) could easily be one of the top 2 or even the best LW here had they played in the PL. Cf
Anthony Gordon scores a B joining Botman in that club. Harvey Barnes next who following Gordon's red card might be getting a bit of a run in his preferred position...
54
Barnes is the most C that has ever been C'd. He starts for basically any bottom half team and I don't know why but he screams of one day being a West Ham player.
Andy
Barnes is a low C. He starts for the majority of premier league teams, but doesn't offer enough in general play to start for best teams.
Keegans Export
Barnes is the epitome of a C on this scale. Clearly Premier League level but there's a reason he's only been capped once.
Lush Vlad
C. Next.
Geogaddi
Easy C for Barnes , he knows where the goal is but won't contribute anything else.
Kid Icarus
Same applies from when we did this a few months ago. On 08/12/2024 at 15:00, Kid Icarus said: Eg I think Barnes can be a top 4 impact sub, an upper mid-table starter with good cover behind him, lower mid-table without. In situations like this D is actually higher than C imo. Barnes is a specialist player that works best as an impact sub (D) but can potentially do that at a higher level (B) than he would play as a starter (C). C seems fair but I don't think it suits the type of player he is at all.

Abacus
Can't really argue with a C overall. Be interesting how he does with a few games under his belt as a starting player
mighty__mag
How can you rate Barnes fairly, when he's not even able to play his position, or start regularly. Howe will always play Gordon no matter what, unless he's forced to play Barnes on the left. Just do the whole thing on their Fifa ratings, with Tonali being an A seems that's the way people are influenced.
