They were one of the worst teams in the league when we played them in November and yet they were made to look like a top 6 team by how shite we were.

I'm expecting nothing tonight. Players have been on the beach since we got to the final.

Don't think it's got anything to do with the final, our form dropped off a month ago, no one would have been going easy for the final that far back. Just some teams give us trouble with their style, mostly the ones who don't give us time on the ball.

Although that said, with the final being on Sunday, I do think a few of them might have their eye on Wembley tonight.

That's insane.

In professional leagues they at least make an attempt at balancing the schedule.

It’s a European game.

If the they were in the Europa / Conference League, they’d be playing on Thursday.

UEFA aren’t going to give a shiny shite about domestic second tier cups.

You're insinuating here that the players haven't been trying, which isn't true at all

Damn, have to meet with my boss this afternoon so I have to record this one.

No reason the Mags can't go down there and put up a real scrap.

Under normal circumstances I'd be disappointed with anything less than 3 points given they have had a pretty dismal season, I wouldn't normally expect us to be scrapping for anything. But they seem to have turned the corner, and I can't see us being 100% focused with the final on Sunday, so I think a point will have to do.

Been a few comments on here recently questioning the committment of the players just because performances have been up and down

The players may not have the quality you want them to have but I wouldn't question the committment of any of them. Saying "they're on the beach" and someone else saying they're "sick of the sight of them" is insulting and does no favours to us as a fan base

Tell your boss to feck off.

Actually I just realized with the clocks moving forward last weekend here in the US kick off is actually right after our meeting, I hope that's a good thing. ;)

I'm not so sure.

There were interviews with players that have suggested our poor early performances have been at least partially down to the players' mindset. Players have talked about how they'd had it out, that their attitude hadn't been right, and that led to our run of good form. It's seeming like they've slipped back into that malaise.

Also, Burn and Trippier said in their interview after the second semi that their heads hadn't been right in the run-up to the final last time, that they had got distracted by everything around the final. It seems like that might be happening again.

Based on what?

Picking up injuries to our better players?
