You’re basically right but I was raging at how careless we were towards the end. Not that Longstaff, Willock and Wilson will ever make a team more secure.

Yet people are screaming for Eddie to make subs and game manage. You can see why he’s hesitant to.

A good result and no injuries is another bonus. The quality of the football from both teams was proper ropey at times but we generally managed the game well.

I swear most of our injuries are a few days after games mind

I’d rather Miley came on for either Willock or Longstaff, and Osula for Wilson.

Wilson has always been a finisher though, he’s never been a good all round player, and you could argue that he’s the one that you want the ball to fall too inside the box.

In terms of looking forward to the game next week, this game ticked every box you could have asked for really.

  • A Win to build confidence.
  • A Clean sheet to give our shakey defense & Pope a boost.
  • A goal involvement for Barnes coming into the 11.
  • Not having to get out of 2nd gear and overly exert ourselves.
  • No obvious injuries.

Thought popey played well the diving header clearance was a highlight. 😂

Tripps was good all game the three in the middle had good games barnesy although he drifts in and out of matches is a match winner.

Problem is we don’t have game managers on the bench, we have very random, hesitant and wasteful players like Willock and Longstaff. Personally think Miley and Osula would’ve been better than Wilson and Willock to come on, but meh. Our options are pretty bad.

Very good and needed win, albeit not entirely convincing, but who cares? Until we scored the best player by an absolute mile was Areola. Don't normally mention the other team but they were so half arsed it was crazy and their atmosphere was borderline Covid-era quiet.

Pope: 7

Trippier: 6.5

Schär: 6.5

Burn: 5

Livramento: 7

Tonali: 8

Bruno: 7.5

Joelinton: 7

Murphy: 3.5

Isak: 6.5

Barnes: 7.5

Really big win this !!! Even though we were so lack luster for most of it, I think it really is a case of the result being the most important thing... we're into mid March now top 6, 3 pts off 4th and in a cup final, would of took that in August if I was offered it.... remember that game away to Brentford was it November ? Was so convinced we'd be mid table this season... anyways bring on Sunday to fuck now !!!! Remember 2 years ago  was raging at my self for not really enjoying the build up to that final, gonna spend the rest of the week now getting hyped up for this... fucking bring it on
