For people who said we’d settle for DCL and/or Wilson extension this is obviously a level above. And we were legit in for 2 others players who ended up at Chelsea and Liverpool

Let's fill the deck with Man City for Trafford, Tottenham for Wissa, Mbuemo at Man U and lose out to Rape Apologists FC on whatever nonce Arteta wants to sign.

AFCON starts at a strange time this year which would mean that he would miss the Christmas fixtures (starts 21st December). Would presumably miss:

As a minimum, as the group stage is done in a week.

Chelsea (H) on 20th December (first game is on 23rd December)

Manchester United (A)

Burnley (A)

Depending on how far they would go in the knockouts if applicable

Crystal Palace (H)

Leeds United (H)

FA Cup Round 3

Wolves (A)

CL Game 7

They have Senegal, Benin and Botswana so they should make it out of the groups, so it is a significant amount of games potentially. Hopefully they lose all their games and he would be back for January.

Or back in good time for Tottenham

Im not going to lie, id have loved Ekitike but we had a bid 69m turned down for him, if we end up with Wissa+ a CB for the same money I'll be more than satisfied.

It presumably will leave some space for GK or perhaps a CM before the window is out.

If we get this done, a CB has to be next and sharpish.

Didn't realise he only had a year left. So they basically have to sell him now.

Depends how and who triggers the year option if its the player and he has indicated he won't do that then yes does push the need for sale. Big risk for them taking 40 goals out of their side plus the manager for around 100m.

Kelleher must have signed for Brentford thinking he'd get first team football for a team with a shot at Europe. Since he's signed they've lost their manager, Mbuemo, likely Wissa and appointed Keith Andrews. Must be kicking himself.

Rumoured that Brentford have a clause to activate 1-year extension. Feels mostly irrelevant though, you don't leave Portugal to return to London for discussions for no reason.

No smoke without fire and all that shite.

Manager I get, but he should definitely expected at least Mbuemo to leave.

It's probably all about the pathway if you're signing for Brentford. On the other hand, there's all the evidence you need that - if you do well there - you get a move to a club that actually wants to compete.

Hes always been a nightmare when weve played them. Pacey, direct, good finisher, good work rate etc.

Its not that hes going to be happy on the bench but more comfortable taking his chance in a CL side, where hes guaranteed to play a big role in our season.

It sounds like he had an agreement with them that he could leave this summer if an offer came in, rather than him flouncing out of the teams training.

For once, its nice to see a player putting pressure from their side.

I just hope we act quickly.

Gentlemen. Have we learned nothing. Contain yersels until ink is dry on paper.

Nah my nipples are poppin' mate.

Granted, I rate Wissa, but I'm never one to be a pessimistic fanny about transfers in general. I'm ready.
